I don't think so, I love a root beer floats and I don't think they could get the fizz you get from the carbonated beverage into the ice cream. Nice try though.

In the summer Schwans makes a root beer float bar. It is a Root Bear flavored outside, with a creamy vanilla ice cream center. They are kinda like those cream sicles that are sold at the grocery store, but better. If it sounds good then g on the Schwans website and request to see if you can get a Scwans person to come to your home. Usually they only come out in the summer.

No. The beauty of root beer floats is the ice cream AND the soda.

Root Beer flavored ice cream sounds delicious!!! And Root Beer floats are great...vanilla ice cream and bubbly Root Beer soda!!! I don't think you can substitute one for the other, though, because the textures and experience are very different. You have a great idea...maybe you can create something wonderful with it...imagine Root Beer ice cream with chocolate fudge sauce and whipped cream...yowza!

Nothing quite matches the taste of a good, old-fashioned root beer float. However, Dreyers makes a limited edition Rootbeer Float ice cream during the summer. If you can't find it, you might blend rootbeer with vanilla ice cream and then re-freeze. Won't be as creamy, but it will work in a pinch!

Root beer floats, also called black cows, would still be better because of the interaction between the soda and the ice cream.

Kroger makes a damn good rootbeer float ice cream bar. Like one of your previous answerers said about schwann's.. it has a rootbeer flavored popsicle-like substance on the outside, and vanilla ice cream on the inside.. and oh my god.. if I didn't have self-control, I'd be a fatty eatin' them damn things I tell ya what!!

They do! I believe DEAN's for one makes it. In fact I recently bought some in the fall. I am not postive, but I think it was DEAN's. Ask your local grocer and he should be able to find a company which makes it. Add to root beer or cola soda for a yummy soda!
