Will cold germs remain on nasal spray tips or inside the container indefinetly? I noticed twice that when I have used a nasal spray for stuffiness in my nose (not a cold) that within 48 hours I came down with a cold. Can cold germs live in or on the container for an unliminted time?

Personally, if I had used one for a cold .. I'd throw the rest of it out and purchase a new one. Or purchase 2 of them .. use one when you have colds only ... use the other one when you just have a stuffy nose/head. Good Luck ! :)

The reason why Afrin should be used no more than 3 days is because the congestion can actually get worse if you keep using it. I would suggest waiting at least 7 days before starting Afrin again, using saline nasal spray in lieu of Afrin.
