Close your mouth, pinch your nose shut, and gently try to exhale. It's hard, since the air doesn't really have anywhere to go, but your ears should pop a bunch. If they don't, and you feel air rushing out of your tear ducts at the corners of your eyes, take a deep breath and try again, only don't exhale so hard.

After you do this, you may have to open your mouth as wide as you can and wiggle your jaw from side to side to get completely back to normal.

It all sounds really crazy, but that's what works for me.

Drink warm water all day. Squeeze your nose and 'blow' out from your ears.
