I will ASSUME for the purposes of answering this question it is NOT due to anxiety. When a person is relaxed and hence otherwise not grossly involved with a focused train of thought, it frees up the person to be more intuned to their own body. There aren`t other things going on to distract you from what you are feeling. You might just be noticing it more at these times. If this problem is off/on, the ecg`s might not catch the problem in action. Certain problems may exsist that do not show on blood work and x-rays. One that comes to mind is atrial fibrilation. This can come and go and although not life threatening can be uncomfortable and scary. Medication can help and if this is the cause of your palpitations you should be followed by a doctor. I had a similar experience. The doctor I saw didn`t seem to believe me because test done were all negative for problems. Finally a doctor ordered a holter moniter which showed the problem. I went about my normal activites for a few days hooked up to the small moniter and sure enough that was all the doc needed to see. I now take two medications daily for it which seem to help and a blood thinner to cut down the risk of stroke, the main concern of many in the field. Twice in the last year I have been briefly hospitalized until extra meds could be given IV and the effects monitered. Over the years this specific condition may happen more frequently and for longer periods of time, as in my case. Again, IF this is what you are experiencing, It is not life threatening but does need some medical intervention. You can find out more about this condition by typing atial fibulation into a search. Good luck and try to relax. Stress can only make it worse.

Hi, I'm 19w5d and I am suffering BAD!! I am the most irritable person in the world. I never felt like this during my first pregnancy, or even during that time of the month, but this time I am a walking time bomb my partner only has to look at me the wrong way and I demand to know what the f*ck is he looking at me all cockeyed for lol. I sympathise with you for the whole not looking pregnant but i bloody well am and i would like some respect! I am not really showing that much either, I look like I have a beer belly rather than a pregnant belly and there's no respect or chivalry anymore!! People where I live are just rude full stop!! When I was very noticeably pregnant with my son, I would be standing in line at the supermarket with my little hand basket when I probably should have grabbed a trolley, clearly struggling and a new checkout will open and people will push and shove to get there first. Never mind the 8 month pregnant girl standing there in front. That happened numerous times. Another time I was at the bus terminal and a group of iteinerants were fighting and one of them pushed me out of the way to get on the bus before me while I was standing on the step and I fell back. I was 7 months when this happened. 2 weeks before my son was born, I slipped on a puddle no one had mopped up at the mall and fell, lucky my Mum was with me cos no one else blinked an eyelid. Can you believe it?! Hopefully people are nicer where you live :) Good luck, hope you can shake your bad mood! I'll let you know if I have any luck ... mine's been hanging around for 3 weeks now!! xx

I also have heart palpitations at night, sometimes I wake up with them. It seems my blood pressure goes up at night. Some vitamins that are good for the heart are coq10, calcium and magnesium. Avoid coke and coffee etc. I recently started acupuncture and this seems to help too.
