I completely agree with all the people who mentioned finger foods and fondue! Shrimp...been there, it works! Fondue...the dipping and dripping and feeding each other is oh-so-erotic. I would stay away from any food that might be messy to eat...pizza, long pasta...you want to just focus on each other and not worry about sauce on your shirt! No sandwiches...not very sexy to have to bite into a sandwich and probably get a piece of lettuce or whatever stuck in your front teeth! As far as wines go...choose what you like, but don't go for the budget wine. Cheap is not sexy. You don't have to spend a fortune, but do show you have some taste and that your partner is important enough to you to choose something special. If you are sticking with cheese fondue and shrimp, you could go for a good Sauvignon Blanc or something similar. If you're doing chocolate, a nice red...Cab, Merlot, or Pinot Noir is great. Champagne is lovely, but not everyone likes it...you can perhaps get a small bottle (split) just in case, to add to your wine menu. But it's not necessary. By the way, if you just want to choose one wine, I would go with a good Pinot Noir...it pairs well with just about everything and it's my personal favorite. Light candles, play good music. Have fun!!!

Must start with candlelight and wine.
Any finger foods -- you feed each other.
Fondues -- for both the main dinner and dessert (meats in oil, bread pieces in cheese, cake and fruts in chocolate) -- this will take a long time and you can enjoy each others company.

Chocolate covered strawberries, mango, cherries, grapes, pineapples, and any type of melon slices. Ice-cream and whipped cream can be romantic also.
