60 bottles, especially if it's a 6 hour party. Personally, I can drink a bottle of wine no prob. I would rather come out ahead than not have enough. You know what I mean, jellybean?

Here it is 1 bottle does 4 glasses each person will drink about 2-3 glasses then again I dont know your "people" so figure this about 20-25 maybe 30 bottles it seems like alot (30 bottles 4 glasses in a bottle that's 120 glasses, 60 guests, 2 glasses a piece, hope my math is okay I generally suck it at),
but... I would do this, 10-15 red varieties----Merlot, pinot noir, cab, Chianti, and basic table red;;;;;,5-8 whites, chardonnay, pinot grigio, Riesling, sauvingon blanc,, I would get brave a do some wine blends for the sake of conversation and when I say that I mean an amorone, a malbec, a meritage etc.. your wine specialist/clerk can tell you or if you need some names try this "Ferrari Carrono Sienna", Luigi reghetii amorone, Alamos, malbec, Villa Puccinni table red, be brave , you can some great stuff for under 10 bucks a bottle but really your going to pay out some cash
Now another side is this, its a house warming they may bring their own wine, you could also give out some as a thank you upon their leaving DONT HOLD ME TO MY MATH, LOL, but I know generally 2 glasses is a safe bet, then again you may have beer drinkers, liquor drinkers and the wine could sit, be cost effective, speaking of which go to Costco or Sam's hope it helps it is a little much but be safe not sorry

A bottle is six glasses. The "average" person drinks two glasses of wine at an event. So you need 120 glasses of wine, or twenty bottles. Buy two cases (24 bottles), one red, one white, and you'll have some left over.
Salut!

If the wine is expensive, plan on one bottle for every four people. If the wine comes in a box, who cares?????
Have fun and drink responsibly!

I don't know what the proper person to wine ratio is, but I would guess...1/2 a bottle per person. I would probably drink more.

15. I usally figure 1 bottle for 4 people, unless it's for dinner and then you want to figure 1 bottle for every 2-3 people...that is usually more than enough...especially for that time of day.

the rule of thumb is about 1 bottle for every 3 people.
but thats assuming that everyone is drinking wine, and not other beverages.
