Monin Pomegranate Syrup

The syrup is also called pomegranate molasses and is available at stores that sell Middle East food products. You will have better luck finding it if you ask for 'molasses'. There are at least 4 brands that I've found and it comes in tall bottles. Pick a brand whose syrup/molasses is very thick as it works better. You can add some liquid if your recipe calls for a thinner product or use it as a flavoring right as it is. Makes a great hummus dip if you add some for flavor, and try it with well ground walnuts instead of garbanza beans for a different twist. A good recipe for a spread is called Muhammara which is made with blended toasted walnuts, pomegranate molasses and tomato paste, seasonings, etc. Enjoy.
