In the US this is equivalent to Flagyl, which is used to treat a variety of different infections. Reported side effects include lightheadedness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, change in taste, and urine color changes.

One of the other major side effects not listed above is interaction with alcohol. This medication inhibits one of the enzymes necessary to digest alcohol (just like the drug Antabuse, used to help alcoholics stop drinking!) Therefore, do not drink when taking Flagyl, as it may cause nausea and vomiting.
