I was having a blood culture test done today! Now seconds after the nurse took the blood it had clotted, it was so thick she couldn't plunge it into the culture bottles any idea why?

you have a high amount of clotting factors in your blood, this isnt abnormal or anything to worry about, you may however need to thin your blood slighty by modifying your diet, ie olive oil, red wine in small amounts etc

i have taken 75mg Aspirin for 6 years since triple by pass but i also have to take simvastatin but my blood is now so thin if i just scratch myself on say rose bush i bleed buckets so how far do you go when do you leave off

A 75mg Aspirin tablet after a meal will thin the blood.

high platlet count in blood, i agree with the asprin comment, 75mg's a day keeps the thrombolism away!

if it's excessive you may have to take anticoagulants.
