It's like injecting water. Your blood sugars stay higher like you didn't inject any insulin. Only use non-expired insulin and don't use the bottle longer than 30 days, if you still have some in the bottle after 30 days throw it away.

A lot depends on what type it is. Based on the types out 20 years ago the main thing was that it is not quite as strong. Checking with your local pharmacy is a smart call.

It loses some of its potency. So you will need more to accomplish the same amount of bg reduction than if it wasn't expired.
