For HIV, NO.

For TB the federal nor any state may require you to be tested. HOWEVER... depending on who might apply to for employment they may require you to take a TB test as a condition of employment. Primarily these are private food service providers such as nursing homes, religious food service organizations, country clubs and the like.

Commercial, available to the general public restaurants, NO.

I do recommend that if you do have HIV or TB you not expose others to possible infection by working in the industry.

So you want to stick with good ol' Native American dishes only then? You obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about. Taco Bell, Chipotle, Panda Express???? NONE of those even serve foreign food. You are clearly too scared to actually leave the US, or you would recognize those as more American than foreign.

I live and work in a restaurant in Vt, We are not required by law to get thoe tests, no, but there are health laws that can protect customers and co-workers. if you have a cough, you go home, if you cut yourself, any utensil you used has to be steralized and any food you were handling at the time thrown away, as well as all surfaces, etc. be sterilized.

It sure isn't! No job can force you to get tested for HIV and if they do then that's illegal. Unless you are working with blood or peoples open wounds. Basically unless you are doctor or nurse. Other than that nope!

No but you are seriously making me want to reconsider going out to restaurants. They can't require it, who knows that might change, as some jobs make you take a pee/drug test. But as of now they really don't
