Probably not...the antibiotics may not be the right choice, even if she had a bacterial infection. Also, if she takes them, and they're the wrong antibiotic, she can promote 'overgrowth' happens for an insufficiently treated infection (like if you don't take all the pills prescribed, and knock down the growth of bacteria, but don't get rid of all of it----or, if the antibiotic was not the best choice, but it got rid of some of the bacteria.) You can make matters worse by treating yourself without consulting with a MD. Most sore throats are viral in origin, meaning they'll go away with time. Go check it out with a doc if she thinks she needs treatment...

Go get a further opinon or see your health practitioner on monday. Ask them to swab your throat. It could also be a viral illness tonsilitous or mono or only a bloodless which antibiotics do not do whatever for viral infections. I am suprised that the health practitioner gave you antibiotics with out doing a swab. Warm tea and honey is fantastic well for a sore throat and take a desk spoon of desk salt and a eight ounce glass of hot water and gargle with that it could support relieve your sore throat do this each and every four hours. I use that becuase I am allergic to many over-the-counter medicinal drugs Hope this brings you a few alleviation.

Absolutely NO. Antibiotics work like building a wall, bick by brick. So if you have any left overs then you left earlier building half done, which is not a great thing as the infection will get immune to the further use of the same antibiotics. You must see the Doctor.

NO!! She needs to see her MD and get a culture.
Antibiotics :
1} are only beneficial to a bacterial infection. If she has a viral infection, antibiotics will do her no good.

2}Antibiotics lose their potency over time. It is important to continue to take the entire prescription as directed. There should be no "leftover" from a previous prescription.

Don't let her self medicate. She can try some home remedies. Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection . Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. More details and home remedies available at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html
