Mitral valve prolapse is a common condition that is not usually treated unless you're showing signs and symptoms of heart problems (such as shortness of breath or pain). You can go your whole life without even knowing you have this and not be affected. I'm telling you this as a retired nurse and as one who also has this condition. It is heriditary. I wouldn't worry too much about it; however, to ease your mind why not call your ob-gyn doc and verify with him or his nurse that your script is OK for you? Better than worrying yourself silly. Why not get a stethescope and hear what your heart sounds like? It will have a little "click" in the beat as opposed to someone who does not have mitral valve prolapse. It's just a little something you can do to make yourself more aware of your body and know that all will be well even if your valve is "clacking" away! Godloveya, honey!
