Why would it bother me? Why would I get upset because someone chooses not to kill animals to get nutrition?

I just don't get why so many people on here are out to get vegetarians while shoving Micky Dee's in their mouths and watching person after person die of obesity.

No problem. They are great and understand what the issues are in relation to diet, animal welfare and enviromental sustainability.

as with any group, there will always be odd-balls who let them down. And often those "vegetarian" oddballs on this site are meateaters who are trying to give the veggies a bad name

Its all this sort of stuff that bothers vegetarians:

see, comments like this " you need to supplement your diet with protein, amino acids, omega3 and fiber. Without doing this you will not have enough energy to last throughout the day. " just make meateaters look stupid. There are millions, yes millions, of vegetarians who never use supplements, are not ill , are healthy and strong. The need for suppliments is just a myth. There are plenty of vegetarians who just eat normal food, and its good and balanced for them. Mind you, this comment came from a "health food distributor" so i guess the need to make profit has tainted the truth in this case.

Susy_Q...Whats with all this "but I know its not healthy in the long run" nonsense ? a balanced diet is not unhealthy. Eating processed food is the root cause of much unhealthiness, whether it be a meat, or meat-free diet. Do the customers in shopping Mall food courts look healthy to you ?

Peter: there is no such thing as a "semi=vegitarians ". Animals are either dead, or not. You are either vegetarian, or not.

Considering vegetarians make up only 3% of the world population, it does amaze me how many meateaters cliam they know lots of unhealthy, preaching vegetarians. They do get about a bit....unless of course people are just making stuff up.

No, I have never had issues with vegitarians. For the most part they have been pretty normal in every way, and friendly.

No, I (and other vegetarians) do not bother me at all. I love that there are people who actually have a heart, who are not so self-absorbed in caring about only what tastes good to actually care about the suffering of the creatures we share this universe with.

No they don't bother me. If anything, many of us can learn a bit more on how to eat more appropriately.
If you think about it, we really aren't meant to consume cow milk. We are the only species that drink milk (from another animal at that), when we are way past the infant stages, which by rights is only time we should be drinking it.
What's even more funny, is that most people would rather drink milk, that comes from a cow's breast, rather than fathom the idea of drinking milk processed from a human female. Most people think that is disgusting, but milk from a cow is not, go figure.

Obviously there is nothing wrong with the choice to be a vegitarian...my only complaint is a disproportianatly large number of vegitarians are sanctimonious, judgemental types who resent the choices made by meat eaters.

They might outlive me .... but I wouldn't want to spent many wakinghours with them either.

No it doesnt bother me but I know its not healthy in the long run. My cousin is a vegetarian and has been for year and years. Her skin looks horible and she always has dark circles under her eyes. Her doctor actually told her to eat meat or she will sufer in the long run health wise. There certain things that you need in red meat that you cant get in any other meat. Now its not good to eat alot of red meat, exspecially if your a woman, but every once in awhile you need it! Yes they are probly healthier in some ways also, they eat more fruits and veggies if there doing it the right way, but red meat once in awhile would be perfect! I know i couldnt live on veggies , for that I give them a thumbs up!.

If a person eats healthy as a vegetarian, I have no concern at all. I also would not want them forcing their opinions on me about what I should eat.
