why sometimes we try to help other people and it seems they don't see they are in danger and they don't listen to what we try to tell them? Why sometimes it seems we throw them a life boat but they still want to be in the deep ocean and fight against pirates and sharks instead of grabbing our hands and be rescued? Please, explain. Share your thoughts about this. Have you ever been in this situation before?

I think we have to learn the difference between offering to help and rescuing. We can expend a lot of energy trying to rescue someone who does not want to be helped; and get burned out in the process. I think we need to let people know we're there for them, and leave the decision up to them as to whether or not they accept or reject our help. I'm speaking spiritually and otherwise.

Many people in my past have tried to help me see the danger I was headed into but I wouldnt listen either. So I had to learn from my own mistakes. People are going to do whatever they want no matter how many life boats you throw to them. Best thing is let them make there mistake and when they finally wise up then be there for them. Cause thats when they will need a friend.

because God told us to help others.

and eventually that person that is in despair will reach out to someone along the way and hold on and get the help that they need and later on see in their past that many others tried to help and will pray to God thanking Him for sending us all to him, even though he ignored us. If we all stopped helping at once, no one would ever get help ever again and that would suck. If 1000 people tried to help and that last person was the one that the person in despair finally listened to and reached out to, then the other 999 were still necessary because if it wasn't for the first 999, that last one never would have been there to help the person.

Everyone has their own path. What is right for you may not be for someone else. Share thought and ideas. Trying to force your beliefs on others has caused conflict for thousands of years.

Religious people don't recognise when they are drowning. They believe that god will save them so they refuse help when it is offered.

I saw a joke on here a couple of days ago. A man sitting on the roof of his house ina flood praying to god to save him. A boat arrives but he sends it away because he believes god will save him. A helicopter arrives but he sends it away for th same reason. He finally drowns and when he meets god he says'I've been a good christian, why didn't you save me?'. God replies 'Who do you think sent the boat and helicopter?'.

yes, total waste of time, one thing i would do over again in life, is to not listen to so many whiners and people with sad stories who really don't want to do anything to help themselves. just a waste of time and very tiring.

It's just human nature dear. Keep on trying though, and never give up.

There is usually a reason someone doesn't want help. I am personally in favor of self reliance. If they don't want it, you should leave them alone.

Unless you walk a mile in someone elses shoes, dont ask him to change his 'socks'.
