If they moved to Miami or other surrounding areas, these locations are known for a heavy Latino population. However, considering that it is a reality t.v. show, i think it would be safe to say that they played it off as a big deal, when it was merely nothing more than chance that they ran into people of different decent.

They've actually always lived in Florida (until recently, they lived in my hometown of Clearwater, in the Tampa Bay area - it was always cool to see local landmarks on their show and be like, "Oh, that's Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach! I recognize that exact spot!"), but they just moved to Miami for Brooke's "music" "career".
I don't know what the Latino-to-Anglo ratio is in Miami, but I can tell you for sure that it's not that way in all of Florida. In the Tampa Bay area, we're still very much Anglo-centric, with a small percentage Spanish-speaking folks thrown into the mix. I'd say I come into contact with less than 50 people a year who don't speak English.

They moved to a Cuban area, Cubans are the largest groups of hispanics that start businesses and support themselves. I would say this is a good thing; they aren't asking for a handout. It is their business, they can speak whatever language they want. Second generation Cubans are bi-lingual, but the first generation is usually not.
BTW-Cubans aren't illegal, they fall under refugee status and can become citizens when they arrive in America.
Cuban spanish is easier to understand than Mexican spanish (which has more slang) they should have no problem picking up the lingo.

That's because they moved to Miami where it is largely a Hispanic culture and language. Why they moved there vs say...LA or someplace in California for his daughter's singing career is beyond me.
