I prefer Continental Airlines when I fly to Tokyo Narita Airport but I might be biased because I'm OnePass member and usually upgrade to BusinessFirst. Since your parents are coming from Oklahoma, your best option would be American Airlines. They have 2 daily flights from Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport (DFW) to Narita. They also have 3-class service so you can choose first. business or economy class. Their flight numbers are AA61 and AA175 for DFW to NRT and AA60 & AA176 for the return flight. They also have a flight from Los Angeles (AA169 & AA170) and Chicago.

Continental has flights from Houston and Newark. Continental CO7 depart Houston (IAH) at 10:45am and CO6 leaves Tokyo at 5:10 pm.

Delta Airlines fly only from Altanta and US Airways does not fly to Japan. Your other options are United Airlines from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Chicago or Northwest Airlines through Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul or Detroit.

I recommend either American or Continental because their hubs are closer to Oklahoma. Most international services on U.S. airlines are about the same, especially in economy class. Also, I would think your parents would like a short flight to DFW or IAH and settle in for the long flight instead of changing planes after 2-3 hour flight to the west coast.

I hope I didn't overload you with too much information and good luck.

Absolutely don't fly on United ever - actually domestic or international. Continental, Northwest, and American are all good airlines (although I will admit I've never flown Continental internationally). Other good international airlines are KLM and Air New Zealand although they may not fly where you're going.

I've travelled on 13 different airlines around the world, and my best experiences have been on Air New Zealand, British Airways, and Thai Airways.

I flew continental and their international planes are very fantastic. settee is really comfortable for the traditional sized man or woman. everybody receives their own television in the headrest in the front of them, and they have very sturdy service. We left from Newark flew into Rome, then left from Paris to Newark.

The best I've been on are Virgin Atlantic or Malaysian Airways.

From London to America I have travelled with Virgin Atlantic and they are very good.

Comfortable seats, good entertainment, friendly cabin crew and decent aircraft.

Good meals too.

Virgin Atlantic are also very cheap to with Economy cabin.
