i can't activate my win xp home edition even i have a legal key, it says online activation cannot be completed at this time, i installed win xp home and updated it with sp2 using IT installer pack before trying to activate it, and now i can't activate it,btw i got message code no. 45123
i would appreciate ur help its frustrating

Call the MS activate line. They will be able to activate it for you over the phone. That is common when you use the IT installer on an unactivated version of Windows.

This is by design. At some point your other PCs will fail validation as well and you'll find yourself unable to logon to them. According to Microsoft's licensing policies, each retail or OEM cd key may be used to install Windows on one - and only one - PC. What you are doing is a voilation of your EULA, and you are guilty of software piracy. Solutions? Get Genuine. If you built the PC yourself, OEM versions of Windows are available from nearly every online reseller. These include TigerDirect, NewEgg, ZipZoomFly, etc. Cost for XP Pro is around $129 per license. You may also opt for the Get Genuine option from Microsoft. This will allow you to purchase a valid product key (XP Pro is $149) and install that key on your PC without having to reinstall Windows. Microsoft will even send you a genuine copy of the CD at no extra cost. Somehow I think that asking the community to help you pirate your OS is against the CoC...

Thats a common server problem. You can phone the activation line, and they will talk you through what to do
