I use the recipe from the Kraft website (www.kraftfoods.com) for "Simply Lasagna". It calls for regular lasagna noodles and they do not get cooked before baking. I love the recipe and the flavor of the lasagna. I have served it for many dinner parties and have NEVER had a complaint.
If the recipe you're using tells you not to cook the noodles first it should have extra water already written in the recipe...that is how the noodles cook when the lasagna bakes.
Good luck!!

When I bought the good noodles from Barilla- they cooked great in the lasagna I made, but I found that it was a little dryer than I had liked, so next time I added a bit more sauce to the recipe.
This past time I tried to be cheap and buy the wal-mart brand of noodles and they didn't cook quite right, they were a bit chewy. EW!
I'd go with Barilla, the regular ones. They cooked great for me- and add some extra sauce in there.
Hope that helps!

I've made lasagna with uncooked noodles before but it didn't turn out very good. The noodles didn't taste like they were cooked and were a bit chewy with the ends on some noodles staying hard. It was pretty gross. It'll never used uncooked noodles again.

I am sure it will turn out dry and not as good as if you'd cooked the noodles first. They will absorb liquid from the cheese and dry it out.
I wouldn't even think of it. What would be the point? To try and save time? Use no-boil noodles. Using dry noodles will definately NOT make the dish taste better.

You still need to cook your noodles before making the lasagna.
At the very least soak them in some hot water. I think your recipe might be making an assumption that you know you need to precook noodles.

I have made spinach lasagna with regular pasta. It cooked completely! Don't worry about it. Just make sure you add some kind of sauce - like alfredo sauce or the red sauce.

I make a killer lasagne with my husband- Never put a pasta sheet on the botoom of the tray- it may not cook . Layer first- eggplant, mashed pumpkin(& any other veges you like), your own favourite mince & tomato mix, home made cheese sauce, pasta sheet- repeat-finish last layer with cheese sauce and sprinkle grated cheese before nearly cooked so it will grill but not burn. You can use anything you like. As long as there is enough moisture in the ingredients surrounding the pasta sheet it will always cook. Good Luck!

Add water to the sauce when you simmer the sauce and that should take care of the problem. I think the recipe I have calls for 1 cup.

That's the only way I make it. I never cook my noodles first. I make it with fresh, hot sauce.
