My husband was in your situation before (^_^)
Just be yourself, don't lie to cover it up.
You dont want to waste your time with a girl who likes your car more than she likes you, right?
Plan not-so-conservative date where you dont have to drive her; ie:
1. ask her a driving lesson date? Maybe you'll learn faster with the right teacher ;p
2. date her at her home? Wear nice suit, bring flowers, wine, play the piano/guitar for her.
3. watch TV together, or you can bring along your romantic / comedy DVDs
4. ask her to ride with you. Unless it's raining, actually motorbike or bycycle is more romantic, because she'll have no reason not to hold you (literally), just remember to bring 2 helmets :)

Good luck

Your situation is called pride.

Now get over yourself. Ask her out. Put in for petrol money every so often so it doesn't feel so one sided. And sometimes take public transport to meet her at where ever you are going.

Actually, if you are going to let that hold you back from letting you date, it maybe that you are hiding behind that excuse and have another reason not to date like you don't want to get hurt? Give it some thought.

No problem!-you can still "date" her.-that's good cause she has a car, I don't drive cause of medical reasons. I've had girlfriends in the past who drive & I took them out on dates, (you don't have to be the "driver" to take a woman on a date.) You should be happy, it's hard for guys to find a girlfriend who don't drive.

Why does it matter that you don't drive - if she doesn't respect you because she can drive and you can't, she's a shallow girl and not worth your time.

That is the wrong reason to date someone. Leave her be and take the bus or ride your bike!

Ask her out anyway. If she digs you, she'll drive.
