It depends how overweight you are.
Initial weight loss is often water, so make sure you don't dehydrate. The colour of your urine should be like pale straw and you should at least wee every hour and a half or so.
Weightloss in large individuals can be rapid initially, but is not sustainable at that pace.
Your plan of eating more fruit and veg is great. Not eating late is also a good plan. Its not really a diet (diets are bad!) but more sensible healthy eating!!
Keep up the exercise that's the most important thing. You're doing fine. Initially it'll fall off you and then slow down and plateu. That's normal. Keep it up.
Don't overtrain, because I don't want you to give up completely when you wear yourself out. Get two rest days a week!!.
Do weight bearing exercises because muscle is the most efficient fat burner ever!! Once you develop more lean mass it wants to live and it ups your metabolism even when resting.
Keep at it you're doing great!!

Iys normail to loose 5/6 pounds first week of dieting then fall to 2/3 a week. However that diet sounds a bit intense and unrealistic. Calm it down a bit and you'll be more successful in the long run

Diet (eating too little calories) is a guarantee weight loss failure. Your body needs calories to survive. If your body does not get enough calories to sustain life, your metabolism drops to protect itself. Will you lose weight with dieting? Yes…. However, it is not a permanent weight loss. You will eventually gain the weight back plus more.
When you diet, you will lose weight, which consist of water weight, muscle weight, and maybe a little fat.
I am sorry but there is no short cut to weight loss. It requires time, persistence and hard work. If you want to lose weight safely and effectively, I outline the some general tips.
1. Exercise (resistance training): Lifting weights can add muscle to your body. Your metabolism is highly correlated with how much muscles that you have. Your muscle is where fat is being burned.
Basically, the more muscles that you have, the higher your metabolism, the more calories that you can burn even when you are sleeping. That is why 255-pound bodybuilder can eat more than 5,000 calories a day because of the amount of muscles that they have. They need to eat a lot just to maintain their muscle.
Here are some exercises that will give you the best bang for your time.
Squat, Dead lift, lunges, Military press, Push-up, Bench Press, Lat Pull Down, Pull-up, Row, etc. Focus in multi-joint movement to involve more muscles.
2. Aerobic training: One way to boost your metabolism so that you are burning more calories is through interval training. Interval training consists of alternating between high intensity and low intensity training. For example, jog for 2 minutes to 30-second sprint. Repeat for 20 minutes.
Interval training is much more effective that steady state cardio e.i. 30 minutes running with the same speed. Interval training allows you to burn more calories while reducing your time.
3. Supportive Eating: Eating smaller meals through out the day can help boost your metabolism. Eating smaller meals every 3 hours helps fuel your body. Think about it for a second. I am sure that you know someone who eats all the time and yet are lean and you probably know someone who eats very little and yet the person is fat.
What should you eat? In every meal, you should attempt to eat lean protein, starchy carbs, and fibrous carbs.
Lean protein such as chicken, white eggs, turkey, soy, lean meat, fish, tuna, salmon, etc.
Starchy carbs such as oatmeal, brown rice, red potatoes, yams, etc.
Fibrous carbs such as fruits and vegetables.
These tips alone can help you a lot of you follow my guidelines. Remember, losing weight too fast will not be a permanent weight loss. Take your time and commit to eating better and exercising and you will eventually lose that weight.
Quick tips: Limit your sugar, saturated fat, and hydrogenated fat. Drink plenty of water.
Good luck

I would continue with the diet. It sounds like a healthy one. It's not like the grapefruit or a solitary item diet and no exercise those are really bad for you.. Sounds like you are doing everything right. Keep up the good work.

If you are not losing about 2 lbs a week then yes you are in danger of a plateau or of rebounding and putting the weight back on. Make your weight loss part of your lifestyle.
There are 5 most important things that must go together in any weight loss program. These are part of changing your complete lifestyle to one that is healthier. They also help you to naturally optimize your metabolism. The faster your metabolism the better your body uses your food for energy, instead of storing it as fat.
I put them in the order of importance.
1. Eat more. Yes eat more. More meals that is. It is best to eat a small meal every 3-4 hours. The meal should be just large enough to where you are not hungry, as opposed to eating you are full. There is a difference, think of it as no bigger than the size of your two fists put together. Eating 1 or 2 meals a day slows your metabolism down. You should have at least 4-6 meals a day. For most a ratio of carbs-proteins-fats should be 50%-25%-25% is good, but each person is unique.
2. Drink more water. Most of us don’t have enough water. This means our bodies are dehydrated. Two things a dehydrated body has trouble doing, one is releasing water. In order to lose fat you must be able to release water, because fat cells in your body are composed of mostly water. A dehydrated body cannot build very well. Muscle tone indicates a constant building state in your body. If your body isn’t building that means it is losing muscle and it’s never good to lose muscle that slows your metabolism and makes you look flabby.
3. Maintain a balanced workout regimen of cardio and resistance (weights). Cardio is good for fat burning and it’s easy to do and to progress yourself. Resistance is a little harder because it’s not as easy to know what to do. If weights aren’t your thing then try Yoga or Pilates. Both are very effective resistance and core training and can help you maintain lean muscle and increase your overall metabolism.
4. Smart supplementation of your diet is your best solution to making sure you get the nutrients your food doesn’t give you. A daily multivitamin will suffice in most cases, and if you don’t like pills they sell it in liquid form. Plus cleanses, as well as detox formulas are awesome for eliminating toxins we take into our bodies without knowing.
5. Sleep is a very important part of any healthy lifestyle regimen. When we sleep our bodies and minds refresh themselves and allow us to function at an optimal level. Sleeping allows muscles to rebuild themselves and when they do that, it speeds your metabolism.

You are probably losing alot of fluid as well as fat. As you are attending the gym you should not be losing any muscle mass. Stick with it. You will probably find that over the next few weeks (depending on your initial weight) you will begin to lose 2-3lb per week then dropping to 1-2lb per week. Do not become disheartened tho and stick with it.
If you have a very high initial weight e.g. a BMI over 40 it is quite normal to lose 6lb or more to begin with however this too will also begin to slow down.

You might plateau soon so be aware of that, it does seem to me a big drop, but you didn't sat what weight you started at, if you in obese range loosing quick would be good, less to loose do it slower. Judge by how you feel generally
