I have to agree. Too bad there are some people who just seem to be taking it for granted.

Um, sorry to burst your bubble, but the States is not the best country to live in according to the most recent survey by the Economist, which ranks countries according to their quality of life. The measure of 'quality of life' includes those things you mentioned, ie. political freedom, as well as health, material wellbeing, job security, etc. Topping the list is Ireland, followed by Switzerland, Norway, Luxembourg, Sweden, Australia, Iceland.... in fact the US comes in at a comparably low number 14 on the list.
I am guessing, judging by your question, you haven't stepped foot outside of your country to notice that so many places around the world have it equally as good as, if not better than the US. The US is not the centre of the universe, although I'm sure your president will beg to differ, and such statements as yours truly bestows upon your people the negative stereotype of Americans that seems to thrive elsewhere around the world.
Travel, read up and learn about the rest of the world before coming to the conclusion that you are better off. Just a suggestion...

Well.........NOT REALLY , the best country most people would choose as "best" is their home, the place where they feel close to family and friends. It's not really geographical, it's more emotional and spiritual. Of course there are countries where people have higher standards of life than others, where the air might be cleaner than in other places etc, but that's not what defines "the best" in my opinion. I live in Romania, I've been to the US and stayed there for about a year or so (in Florida) and I must admit I enjoyed the low-prices (walmart), the nice weather and beaches, but it still didn't feel better than home. You know what they say, home is where your heart is....Right now, my heart is with my girlfriend, who is a south-african living in the UK (quite complicated, don't U think.....) but I must say it will always be best to have her, to have friends and family with me......The exact place doesn't really matter as long as it's a free, democratic country where U can live your life in peace......;) Cheers !

...No. How many other places HAVE you lived in? America may be so called "free" but it's certainly not clean. Don't forget, you also have the most prejudice against asians like me and other ethnic races, the most unhealthy people... the list goes on. I live in China but I'm born in the UK. Every place has its own unique charm. I'm perfectly happy where I am, thank you very much.

Silly me, I forgot that you're right. You have the model president, your healthcare system really works well for supporting the not well off and that's why 80% of the population has never left the country as everywhere else would be a letdown...

Ok - the point of this question is (as an American I am thinking). I am not sure where the would "clean" comes in as you talk about this country.

Good Luck!!!

You got everything you want but not everything you need so your question is wrong. America is not the best. It's just the same to other countries.
