No, they aren't the same. Rhubarb thickens pie filling, and red chard would not. Red chard can be used in place spinach in cooked dishes, so you could use it in a quiche, or make creamed chard. I made double swiss rolls with chard a couple of weeks ago (swiss cheese and swiss chard in phyllo dough - from foodtv.com). Wash chard carefully; it can be sandy/gritty.

I'll go with the pie. I like root beer but I'm not that big on ice cream. Together, I think floats are poorly conceived compromise that doesn't really satisfy root beer lovers or ice cream junkies. Do I use a straw or a spoon? Both? Meh. Just my opinion, but I can think of better ways to make my lips feel all sticky.

The only time I've heard of red chard being used is with onions. Never ate it so I'm not sure.

No they are nothing alike. Red chard is more a vegetable, and would not do well in a strawberry pie.

no, red chard is a variation of swiss chard.and is cooked and eaten like collard greens ,spinach or turnip greens. its very good .has a nice flavor not bitter like turnip greens.
