Raped my sister it was like about 14 years ago and she forgave him. Not only as a privite matter but a public matter. I never seen my brother and dont think I ever will. How could I handle this its was kind of embrassing for me many people around my small town found out. Now I kind of rub it off like I dont care but I do. I am afraid to tell my sister because she said she feels she healed herself.

I feel so embarrassed it was on TV shows and Newspapers also talking about it on live TV on today show. I feel like everyone knows and I feel judged. Please help what would you do?

First I came on here because it was kind of out in the public eye and another thing he is in jail been there since it happened. I wanted advice and the first person to post that was kind of rude.

It is embarassing but not for you or your sister. IT is your brother that is supposed to feel the shame. Living in a small town means everyone knows everybodies business and this may not help but soon something else will capture their attention, ears and mouths. The topic may arise from time to time, but you need to find a way to hold your emotions in. I have found the things that hurt us the most ppl like to drill it in.
Just know that you did no wrong. Time heals all wounds, it doesn't remove the scar though.

It's a cruel world out there and people are bound to say things that you don't like. I also think that the media doesn't take the other family members into consideration when they show things on TV, but that is the way life goes. You just have to keep your head high and let what they say go in one ear and out the other. Your sister is the victim and she is not letting this get to her maybe you can learn by her example. Just don't let them get you down you need to stay strong to keep your sanity.

i think that as long as you don't talk to your sister about this then your feelings are totally justified. i think i would feel the same way if i was in your position. what your brother did was unforgiveable and your sister might only be 'forgiving' him because she is still in denial. maybe you should seek some councilling, and use that as a vent for your feelings. hope things work out for you x

You hold your head up high, and walk on. What your brother did to your sister was wrong, but you didn't do anything wrong. If people should judge you by what your brother did, then the shame should be put on them, not you.

no one can heal from being raped tell your sister that u love her and your sorry about what happend between her and her brother but im sure she is trying to forget about it..so the best thing to do is not talk about it much with her. i was raped when i was 3 years old by my dad and when people ask me about it and try to talkt o me about it like my sister i jsut ask her to forget about it cause it hurts to think about it and have my sister think about it..sometimes it aint as bad as u may think but i mean it is very bad that people even do that to others..but hun the best i can say it to just tell her ur sorry about what happend and tell her u love her and suport everything she has to do to about it..

Dear, you are NOT your brother's keeper, nor are you responsible for his actions. You have done nothing to be ashamed of. THAT'S your BROTHER'S job.
