He's suppose to come back as an theif, so people might know he's return but I don't think he'll easily be recognized. Kind of like your average joe.

I've heard the tribulation being two different ways. The first and what most seem to believe is we just disappear, the second one being with the world going crazy and we have to go to him.

I prefer the second way myself because it would be nice to feel him calling to me and trusting him enough to go through anything to get to him.

But I picture him being simple, quite but with a feeling of greatness in his presence.

How do you picture him?

Jesus is not the meek and mild carpenter we knew Him to be when on earth. He is now all powerful and mighty.

See Revelation.

I picture him as a very manly king coming with all power and glory ready to kick some booty.

Kind of like when Aragorn put on his rightful armor and was ready to fight!

Jesus' first coming was to proclaim the kingdom. The second coming he is cleaning house and setting up shop.

People have this picture of Jesus as some loving womanly nice guy. Jesus was loving and gentle but he was no doormat. He came for a specific purpose and he fulfilled it.

If he wanted to he could have wiped out all those evil men. However, that was not his goal at the time. No, the second coming you are either going to tremble in fear or you are going to rejoice the return of our rightful king.

As far as the tribulation goes, it will happen and those who are alive in christ will go through it just like anyone else. I call those who think the rapture will happen prior to that wishful thinkers.

The reference to coming as a thief means that He will return when most people are not aware of His return---today a large amount of people deny His existence. There is less faith today than ever before, just check out the answers you get on this site.

He will be coming with the hosts of Heaven in great glory.

This time it will be as a lion.

I guess he would be the guy who hangs out with homeless people, disabled people, alcoholics, poor people, sad people, hopeless people.... practically with everybody who is not accepted by society. And, I guess, he would love to speak to the Pope and ask what went wrong...

Isaiah says that the intercessor for our transgressions will be marred more than any man and that people will reject him because of his looks. They will say that God has cursed this man so they don't want to have anything to do with him. But it was God's plan for him to suffer because he took our sins and made it his so that we won't have that guilt. So if Jesus is indeed our intercessor then there will be many who rejects him because of his appearance.
