Can UK Govt be allowing UK to become another Islamic country?

Having watched, along with millions of other people the Ch4 Dispatches programme - http://www.channel4.com/news/dispatches/themes/society_theme_landing.html on 15/01/07, I cannot help but wonder why UK troops are in Afghanistan and Iraq (which, as I understood, was to maintain our own Nations' democracy, peace, etc) when, according to the above programme, UK people are allegedly "being groomed" to accept and change to the Islamic Faith or face the consequences - which is contrary to what the UK Govt are saying.

IF this programme is correct in the facts, WHY has UK Govt not shut down, or deported these "missionaries" (sic) when our own UK children are not even allowed to wear the Christian cross around thier neck?

A Dispatches reporter attends mosques run by organisations whose public faces are presented as moderate and finds preachers condemning integration into British society, condemning democracy and praising the Taliban for killing British soldiers.

I'm afraid the UK has for a long time taken the road of appeasement at the expense of its own real identity. While people get passionate about the pound and the system of weights and measures, the entire social structure is being quietly changed.

It used to be my homeland but I don't recognize it anymore. I see more dunks in one evening in the UK than 10 years on mainland Europe. Its become an aggressive society. Cameras everywhere 'to protect us'. Its laughable. The effort should be made to stop people becoming the types we need protecting from.

That it has become a breeding ground of discontent for some religious groups should come as no surprise. The British people are still fighting the second world war.

I think that the title of your question is somewhat misleading. Yes, there are people that support the hardline Taliban for various reasons.

Afghanistan has been used as a ground for the US to overthrow the Soviet forces which caused the collapse of the USSR.

What happened is that the extremists with whom the US worked with at the time were ignored. So was Afganistan was left to rot in its civil wars.

It seems somewhat awkward that the US is trying to spread Western style Democracy in a country like Afganistan. Iraq is nothing but a disaster. Bush's plan to send more troops won't help anything. Most Iraqis want foriegn troops out.

As far as the UK is concerned, I think that the problem of radical Imams is something that the UK authorities should deal with effectively. Alienation and ignorance won't solve anything. Both parties should be focused on integration.

If the majority of British converted to Islam it would start a massive civil war. Nos islamic brits v islamic brits because the converts would attempt to convert the rest. Of course the islamic converts would be destroyed as the armed forces are massivly non islamic and have access to the best weapons. These people who converted would be nothing short of a disgrace and deserve to be killed. Its all fine having people come to our country but to even consider to attemp to convert British citizens to Islam through disgraceful methods should be stopped now and by any means neccessary.

I for one, and there will be many who would agree wouldnt hesitate to defend the once great name of this nation and destroy anyone who attempts to change it. No body has invaded our great nation in 1000 years and no islamic mental freaks are going to change that. The places highly populated by them are run down hell holes and need knocking down and starting again. If you move to britain you obide by british law, follow our heritage, speak nothing but our language ( its annoying when to muslims babble on to each other in a language you dont understand, and its rude ) and when they want to follow there faith they should do it in there own homes. If we are not allowed to show christain values then why should there be big banners celebrating eid?

Britain is the proudest nation in history and itrs about time islamic fundamentalist realized that.

Also can you see the royal family becoming islamic? And the forces serve the queen. She has the right to suspend the government and would in the case of mass islamic convertion in order to stop it.

The muslim population throughout Europe can only get bigger which means the respective governments in W Europe have to increase its vigilance to ensure that subversive elements, teachings be kept out. Having said that, I seriously doubt the Islamic culture appeal to any white Europeans whose cultural background is Judeo-Christian. Since the Islamic world is NOT militarily superior to the West (hence no forced conversion), there is no chance that whole white population embrace a primitive and the least embraceable religious faith known to man. You still enjoy your beers and bacon don't you?

All Governments are bound to obey their people.
If majority of native Britishers convert to Islam there is no way out except to accept their decision.
But no impositions from any internal or external source. It has to be a purely personal decision by each individual, not even by the society.
Freedom of action for all, irrespective of colour and creed, without double standards.

Tony Blair who has been horribly slandered by his countrymen is one of the few members of the U.K. government who has seen the danger.

Tony Blair and others of his age were raised by survivors of WWII and the bombing of London, and recall the horror, uncertainty and deprivation of that war, and rightly fear any other conflict of its kind on home soil. But unlike Mr. Blair, many have gone to the extreme when it comes to diplomacy, as well as the tamping down of nationalism on the European continent with the hope of getting along with everyone and therefore avoiding war.

This is political correctness gone wild in that immigration was permitted to go unchecked, and those immigrating to the U.K. were not being asked to integrate into British culture. This has permitted enmity to propagate in area of the U.K., and in reaction, many try even harder to appease.

The U.K. is not alone in Europe with this problem. Fear of the return of Nazism has made European nations afraid to react to the growing threat, making the U.S. and its reaction seem extreme and dangerous. The United States is portrayed as evil and imperialistic, and the Muslim extremists to look like abused peoples responding to the evil empire of the U.S.

I don't believe the U.K. is being "groomed" to become Muslim, but I do believe it is in grave danger of being taken over from within.

Well, from an outsider looking in... if they are being groomed it is working.

Five or ten years ago I would have never dreamed that the British people could have become so passive as to the goals of the Muslims as they are today.

I cry when I see how a once mighty Empire has signed their own death warrant. We'll miss you in the world of the free. But, then Canada and the USA is following the same path of stupidity.
