I don't know if ALL goat's cheese is white and ALL cow's cheese is yellow, but I know that I have never seen any different, at least with "hard" cheeses. I also know the milk of both animals is white.

Is the cheese different in colour because most goat's cheese is 'younger'? Or is there some other reason?

I think it is because the goats milk has different properties to the cow milk.

goats milk can make similar cheeses sure, yet because it has a thoroughly distinct style it cant be a similar, some cheeses names are secure by regulation also. in reality there are a wide kind of goats cheeses yet regularly they in reality make cheeses with them that flavor fantastic for what they are, to target to mimic yet another cheese might want to be a waste of sturdy milk.

unfortunately the answer is artificial color

most real cheese is white to creamy white in color

big manufacturer's think that adding color to their products
makes it more attractive and sell better

[it seems to work]

if you want to see an taste real cheese
look for cheese from france or germany [not england]

goat cheese is white because it's a specialized market
people who buy it are looking for something more natural
and are put off by artificial color

Cow cheese is white, too. You've seen mozzarella? Parmesan?

Color is added to some cheese during the process of making it. Annatto is what gives cheese the orange color.
