It's similar to the claim of heaven and hell. Anyone can make that claim as well. There's no solid proof. It's a faith thing.
However, energy must travel to a new source once it's left the body. Energy does not "die", thus the energy can be said to be reincarnated.
It's all a philosophy and a faith, look inside yourself. Take away what makes sense to you, personalize your belief. Belief systems are not "one size fits all", that's why we have free will.
I think reincarnation occurs, though I'm skeptical about things like people recalling former lives, fortune tellers, and such.
It's what you believe that ultimately matters. What makes you want to live life.

The majority of human beings on the planet do not remember their own birth; and for the most part, they do not remember much of their early childhood. We can even be skeptical when we hear our parents and family talk about us when we were kids, as to whether they are telling us the truth. Yet we know, from an inner sense, that we were born and had an early childhood. Reincarnation is the same principle. Just because we might not remember our own past lives, doesn't mean they didn't happen.
The misconception, I believe, about reincarnation is that you automatically go into another body after we die. This is not the case. Reincarnation plays a role with free will; we choose to come back into the body, or to stay in the realm of potential ( which some call Heaven, the Other Side, the Spirit Realm). The purpose of reincarnation is so we have many chances to experience the expansive reality and knowledge of God. And we come into the body, to EM-body the principles and idea we know in potential.

There have been documented cases of children (in Asia) who remember their past lives.
The catholic church has drummed into the western world that reincarnation does not happen - and the protestant church just repeated the same lies. The Bible has been edited to remove all obvious mentions of reincarnation.
So in Europe and America, the parents start telling the kids that they are just imagining things, and eventually the kids stop talking about it because the families do not beleive them. Eventually the kids forget, so by the time they are adults, they are just as skeptical as any other adult. When their children start mentioning having previous lives, the whole cycle starts all over again.
Since Buddhism does accept reincarnation, the children in Asia are believed and their stories are accepted as truth.
I'm not a Buddhist, but I do beleive in reincarnation.
In answer to the following question that was posted - Firstly, some religions say that you are reincarnated in order to come back as a "better" person. But if this was true, then why does the world not get "better"?
Because man is greedy and wants everything his own way instead of sharing the resources of the world with everyone. So if 10% of the world owns 80% of the resources, then the other 90% of people has to live on the remaining 20% of resources.

Fallen. Angel it is real and a reality, the only thing that makes since in regard to spiritual movements in this universe.
For the one Jesus guy if only you knew what the bible generally taught, you have a glimpse in Thomas gospel, but yet you deny that for the scriptures of Constantine. Furthermore reincarnation or transmigration of souls was always a strong held jewish understanding, the Essene believed in it, Pharisees did also. I could go and quote Ante-Nicene Church fathers, but I digress. I'll just make a blog about the who reincarnation deal, how it was taught from the Ebonite/Nazirenes/Gnostics prospective, tie in things from Buddhism since it had a similar outlook so I ca hopefully help in providing higher prospective into the concept itself since there exist many misconceptions, like the jesuscc4 guy.
Btw he has absolutely NO idea what reincarnation is about, it would be a waste of time explaining this vast concept to someone such as himself who sits back and judges something he doesn't even have a superficial understanding of no less. Besides people don't reincarnate to become good people as you would think, you don't understand the higher prospective which is multifaceted. And no, each past life is as different as night and day, and comparing ones self to the past experience or projection of the soul is nearly the same as comparing ones self to the stranger walking down the street. "You" don't reincarnate, your soul self does, "you" are a potentiality.
Btw - I saw some past lives, but doesn't matter what I saw. Basically, to the answer above mines, maybe the concept of heaven and hell is distorted and doesn't reflect how it was taught pre-Nicene?

There are many problems with the salvation-by works doctrine of reincarnation. First, there are many practical problems. For example:
1. We must ask, why does one get punished for something he or she cannot remember having done in a previous life?
2. If the purpose of karma is to rid humanity of its selfish desires, then why hasn't there been a noticeable improvement in human nature after all the millennia of reincarnations?
3. If reincarnation and the law of karma are so beneficial on a practical level, then how do advocates of this doctrine explain the immense and ever-worsening social and economic problems - including widespread poverty, starvation, disease, and horrible suffering - in India, where reincarnation has been systematically taught through out its history?
There are also many biblical problems with believing in reincarnation. For example, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 the apostle Paul states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." At death, the, the Christian immediately goes into the presence of the Lord, not into another body. In keeping with this. Luke 16:19-31 tells us that unbelievers at death go to a place of suffering, not into another body.
Further, Hebrews 9:27 assures us that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." Each human being LIVES ONCE as a mortal on earth, DIES ONCE, and then FACES JUDGMENT. He does not have a second chance by reincarnating into another body.

I personally say the reincarnation is not real at all. I believe it is all depends on individual's belief and faith. Buddhism and other religion may believe in reincarnation and they definitely have the reasons behind it which is not in my deep knowledge.
I, however, know that some other religion disagree with reincarnation. This is because an individual is punished or rewarded with hell of heaven after their death, and to "recycle" an individual's soul is impossible since they are possibly in hell or heaven, right?
According to the religion, every human is made together with the soul as well. One human, one soul. So reincarnation definitely against the teaching.
So, it depends on your belief and faith, dear. If you are a free-thinker, do you think you had lived before? Have you ever met anyone reincarnated? I doubt so. =)

Guys cool it down, the world population has doubled like the past 30 years, from where did these souls (and bodies) come from ?!
Scientific explanations for human memory are still theories and nothing is clear, why do you assume reincarnation to be the only solution!?
Who told you that soul is energy !??! Energy is a form of matter, and obeys certain physical laws, while soul is what controls matter, it is not matter, it is more likely to be in another dimension therefore it is able to realize time.

The concept of reincarnation is something that I am intrigued by at present. I am fascinated by all things esoteric and the notion that it is our soul minds that live on and with each life we are developing our spiritual awareness makes a lot of sense to me. I believe that we progress through different levels of etheric plains and in this one our soul minds are encompassed within a human/flesh body. We would repeat many existances in the human form to develop our soul mind enough to advance to the next level. I don't believe that reincarnation regresses (humans can't come back as an animal or insect) but rather that with each incarnation, we develop our soul mind and therefore our next life is advanced compared to this one. I guess that if we don't develop our soul mind in this life, then we would come back and keep repeating the same mistakes until we become aware and move past it, thus being more spiritually aware.
Other etheric plains are higher levels of awareness and therefore we take on etheric form. As far as recalling past lives, I think that would be achievable once a soul mind becomes very advanced in the human form and is probably a sign of readiness to advance to the next etheric plain.
Kinda like with Karma ... what you do comes back on you threefold and I think that extends beyond this life and into the next.

Reincarnation is a truth ... If one book does not mention it, Truth does not become false...
Reincarnation is perhaps a wrong word used...hindus and Buddhists use Re-Birth instead.
Our soul starts its journey in chemicals...and after each awakening find itself in plants, animals and finally human beings.
As humans we have to learn millions of lessons of pains and joys, richness and poverties, cruelty and kindness, killing and be killed, ...till we reach our next mind evolution i.e. Divinity.
One life is not sufficient for all these lessons. hence our soul, after death goes to another body to learn other sets of lessons
The paradoxes as to why some are born rich some poor, some without mind or without limbs...some from poverty going to utter richness...some spiritual from childhood... can not be explained without Reincarnation
Dont ask proof, because no one can give proof of God or heaven/hell...there are certain things which are beyond physical proofs
Many during the hypnotic state have remembered their last birth.
Why we dont remember past birth? Because Nature does not want us to get entangled to our last relations...so that we can freely learn new lessons...that z why She takes away the gross memory at death..and leads soul to new body with the resultant progress earned during last births

Plain and simple, there is no reincarnation- the Bible says that it is appointed for man ONCE to die and after that the judgment. Jesus died to save us from our sins- we will live forever, it just depends where. If we accept Christ for our salvation, then heaven, if not hell. About Unsolved Mysteries- you cannot believe everything you hear on tv. Satan is the prince of this world, and until Jesus comes and wipes him our completely, which by the way, he knows God is going to do- he will anything to turn people away from the truth.
