As foreigners, my kids have been treated like garbage by the Bavarian/German school system. I thought coming to a modern western country, my kids would do just fine. But my honor student has been put into the lowest of three levels of high schools, simply because he does not know German yet. Everyday he is bullied by kids three grades higher. He is forced to do math that he learned three years ago. He has developed OCD as a result of all the stress. As a foreigners here, we are considered low-lifes, even as middle class Americans. I can only imagine how bad it is for immigrants from developing countries.
I truly want to know what it is like for immigrants in the US. As an immigrant, were your children treates so badly? Am I alone, or is this what everyone, everywhere experiences?

Now my case is totally diffrent. We immigrated from Karlsruhe -Germany to Dallas - USA . I am german married to an USC. My daughter (15 y ) just speaks a small english. Everybody in the school is so nice ,help and support her. She got a Tutor meeting every morning and really everyboday is nice and polite.
its hard for me to say (because i am one )the germans are not as nice and polite as you guys are .You want get the support there that you wish you get.
My advice is ..bring your kid asap to an US-School (in Bavaria there should be a couple ) or if you want that he stays in a german school then hurry up and find him german lessons . If you need any help ..email me

I feel badly for your kids, but would they totally be able to keep up with faster kids in a German speaking class, or would the entire class of students have to slow down to accommodate your children? That is what happens here in the US, and it is ruining our schools for our own children. Those that are here legally have a right to be here, but I really think our government needs to stop those who are here illegally from bringing and having kids here, because it is a huge problem for our native children.
If you were the school, how would you address this while being fair to the other students?
The only thing I can think of is tutors or independent studies for math (did you know Stanford University has an on-line math and other courses for gifted kids? You have to pay a per credit tuition, but it has virtual classrooms, individual coursework and placement and the whole bit.) While it would be nice if the school provided these things, frankly, since you moved there, the onus is on you to help your kids fit in.
I would think checking out schools would be at the top of your list in deciding to move, but since you are there now, I would explain what a difficult situation you are in to the school administration and ask if they will accommodate Stanford credits. Then your kid will go from being the dumb one to being the eclectic one who studies math at Stanford.

Well, i think it is very common with the immigrants almost all around the world. If your immigration is legal, talk to your lawyer and make everything at your kids' school, too, by your lawyer – visiting head of the school, and with your legal residing documents and your work permission. Don’t stick to just one school for your kids, if their stick holders are not willing to give your kids every right that every other student has in that school. Try every other school at your area, where your kids can find their peace of mind and their every right. Moreover, try to put them in some strong sports classes, so that they build confidence over themselves and don’t go under bullies’ fetched pressure. So far bullies are every where and at every school, especially with the new kids.

"Simply because he does not know German..." not speaking the language is a HUGE deal! At least in his present class, he can do the work, think about how it would be with a double-whammy where he couldn't understand the teacher or the material. If you have any intention of returning to the US then put your children in an international, English speaking school. Otherwise get him a German tutor so he can catch up. Yes, life is different in Europe...get used to it!

I could advocate Scarbrough as Oshawa is a samll the town and bit clear of the HAPPENING discipline. As u wrote to restrict the disorders of reseling, Scarborough would be the pleasant alternative as now not some distance from down the town why dont u feel approximately north york? i do know Few areas close Lawrence E and DVP and close Eglintion & Laird (on north part) Don Mills and Green Path many Irish familes reside right here These places r now not Far from Scarborough as good
