It takes some time to recover because it is like an overwhelming ocean of emotion and sorrow. At first it seems everything is clouded over and nothing is there to rejoice in. During that part of the grief, I just try to do things that let me stretch my life in a good direction and knowing that my mother, or father, or best friend would want me to keep going. After all of that roar of the sorrowful ocean dies down, it gets very quiet and sad, and I try to fill that time with music that comforts me (not a lot of reminders of what we shared yet, just my stuff.) Then when that smoothes out finally, I return to the things we both liked. And when I do there is a comfort there. Because there is a space just for me. And now I know, there is a space just for you. But better still, there is still a space that is just us two.

Say, 'The angel of death that has been put in charge of you will cause you to die; then to your Lord will you be brought back.'
Every soul shall taste of death. And you shall be paid in full your rewards only on the Day of Resurrection. So whosoever is removed away from the Fire and is made to enter Heaven has indeed attained his goal. And the life of this world is nothing but an illusory enjoyment.
And He it is who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, - and His throne rest on water - that He might try you which of you is best in conduct. And if you sayest, 'You shall surely be raised after death,' those who disbelieve will certainly say, 'This is naught but clear deception.'
He brings forth the living from the dead, and He brings forth the dead from the living; and He gives life to the earth after its death. And in like manner shall you be brought forth.

I lost my first wife of 21 yrs. in 1989, I watched her die for 304 days in ICU, After she died at age 37, Yes it hurts, But I had 10 months to prepare myself, I knew then that she would never be in pain like that again, I saw death on her face, but yet I saw a relief on her face too. I am now remarried to a very wonderful widow Christian woman & have been married this time almost 16 yrs.

Loss, sickness, death...are natural occurrences to all living beings. With men, these are occasions for learning, thinking and improving one's knowledge for better living. Comforts are always available to people who believe and do the Will of God. Life after death is true bliss for those who serve mankind for the sake of God.

The grief we feel is that our own lives are lessened because of this person's passing.
Whether saved or not, the trails and pain of life are over for that person.
