You can actually put your dog on the pill so that she doesn't have a season,or better still get her spayed so that she can enjoy 'Walkies!' every day, without you having to carry a big stick.

IF YOUR DOG IS IN SEASON AND YOU TAKE HER OUT, ANY MALE DOG WILL BE ABLE TO SMELL HER, AND THIS COULD CAUSE YOU A FEW PROBLEMS, ESPECIALLY IF YOUR DOG IS BIG,STRONG. i PERSONALLY DON'T TAKE ANY OF MY GIRLS OUT, I WAIT UNTIL THEY HAVE FINISHED, THEY HAVE THE BACK GARDEN TO RUN AND PLAY AND THEY ARE HAPPY WITH THAT. IF YOU DO GO TRY TO TAKE HER SOMEWHERE THAT NOT MANY OTHER DOGS WALK.

YOU CAN BUY A ***** SPRAY, I HAVEN'T USED IT, SO I DON'T NO IF IT WORKS! BUT MOST GOOD PET SHOPS DO KEEP IT.

I THINK THIS IS REALLY A PERSONAL CHOSE TO WALK, ALSO DEPENDING ON SIZE OF DOG, SOME DOG NEED THAT WALK 2, 3 TIMES A DAY WHERE OTHERS DON'T. SO I THINK YOU WILL GET A LOT OF DIFFERENT IDEAS, THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG ANSWER, ITS 100% DOWN TO YOU.
YOU WILL GET PEOPLE TELLING YOU TO GET YOUR DOG SPRAYED, AGAIN THAT'S ALSO UP TO YOU, DEPENDING IF YOU WANT TO SHOW AT HIGH LEVEL OR BREED FROM AT A LATER DATE. GOOD LUCK.

the reason that vet recomend you wait till her warmth is over is that the uterus is engorged with blood and makes an common spay lots harder for the vet. It will advance the possibilities of the dogs bleeding after the spay. Takes longer to heal and can want to carry about an infection. both kennel your puppy or have her placed on doggie undies to stay away from her making a mess. the majority if the bleeding is in the first 2 weeks. It tapers off after that. yet 3 weeks is genuine. If she became to accidently be bred (be so very careful now to not allow this to ensue) do not panic. Your already planning to have her spayed. It differences no longer some thing. call your vet and make the appointmnet now so that you've no longer some thing else to worrk about.

It would be more beneficial not to for the full season, you are not only attracting other dogs around when you are out but they will follow the sent home, you would have to be very careful when you open your door because you may find a dog outside just waiting to come in.
It is also not fair on the male dog because the sent normally puts him off his appetite. Hope this helps.

If you walk her in dog orientated area's then best to wait untill she's finished her season, you can always take her along the roads though for a walk as long as shes under your strict control.

You can buy pants for her to wear which wont hide the fact she's in season, it will stop other dogs from mounting her. Dogs do need exercise, but it is a nightmare trying to keep males away, I was lucky with my dog as I had a big garden for her to exercise in, and worked different shifts so could take her out when there were minimum dog walkers about.

Well do you live in an area where there are non fixed male dogs? If so then you probably should hold off even though exercise is good for dogs I don't think you want to be fighting off male dogs that are trying to get to her. And a male dog who smells a female b*tch in heat will break off chains, climb fences and do whatever he has to to get to her its animal instinct and even if she is wary of other dogs at a time like this she isn't going to care. Not only that but you don't want to risk her safety of getting harmed or yours if she is big and strong and could pull you. And make sure that when even outside try to have her on a leash because even females in heat will do like the male dogs do and roam and that increases her chance of getting hit by a car or harmed by more than one male dog wanting to mate.

If you walk your dog while she is in season she will attract every male dog in the area.

At best this will be a minor inconvenience to you and the owners of the male dogs as you struggle to keep your b**ch and their dogs at a safe distance . At worst you could find yourself on the end of a lead with your b**ch and some stray dog locked together.

You will then have to take your b**ch to the Vet for the 'misalliance' treatment or deal with a pregnant b**ch and her cross-breed pups.

Keep her in and consider having her spayed before her next season.

You can walk her, but drive her somewhere away from the house or else you will have all the local dogs at your door. Also keep her on a lead so she doesn't run off and mate.

my dad takes his for a walk but carries her from the house to the end of the road and vice versa. bearing in mind shes a toy poodle!! otherwise i think you'd be ok leaving it until shes finished. either way you don't want male dogs howling at the door or her getting pregnant before your ready!!

Its actually against the law in britain to walk a b.itch in public if they are in season as it can encourage other entire males to wander for her. She should be kept in and excercised for three weeks til her season is finished.
