Hi.I'm quite thin as well and I've tried to gain weigh by overeating for years and I can tell you that it doesn't work at all and it's not healthy.I also tried doing exercises in gym but no effect at all.I was quite desperate and then I've tried to consult my problem with a personal trainer.He made an exercise plan for me, showed me how to perform exercises correctly and told me what to eat and when.And guess what......it really worked.
Although I am a male I think I know how you feel and I can tell you that this really works and you definitely should try it. Personal trainers are professionals and changing your body by gaining weight is one of their main specialization.
So don't waste time by trying to gain weight the wrong way as I did. Consult your situation with a personal trainer and do the things he'll tell you.It will take some time until the results will show up so be patient - trust me it's worth it.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span. No food or drink in between the food and not more than three meals a day, unless u r diabetic.

i use to have the same problem i was under weight and know im not well i started puting weight gainers from suplement stores in my daily schedule im not a vegiterian but i know eating raw potatoes and ice cream before you go to bed and and eating lettuce streches your stomach which is a good thing in your case
working out and eating more of those certain foods is you answer
always eat right before you go to sleep because your body cant
burn that food if your not active well good luck bye

Every one above sugge sted everything except onething that u should come to me and i will teach u everthing rest anyways take healthy foods, proteins,, milk and milk products, soyabeans specially , don't go to gym it will not work. keep ur self happy and enjoy everybit of life. eat eat eat eat eat eat eat eat eat eat healthy and stay healthy....

eating alot wont do any good..youll just be verry skinny with a big stomach...you should eat alot of nuts and seeds and work out in order to give you body a nice tone.

eat mcdonalds with super size on everything.. i am sure for 1 month you will gain 20 pounds..

hmm.. i say try eating :) ... what could make you this thin in the first place.. eat more than your used to ull feel bloated to start of with but it will soon pass over.

maybe you should go to the gym, start eating meat thats why your so thin, your not getting enough protien
