The catch is that I can't spent that much to get one, and everywhere I looked these little guys go for alot of money. She used to have one as a girl, saw a pup at a pet store and was so playful and happy (the puppy too). Does anyone know where I can find a t-cup Yorkie in Washington State at a reasonable price....

I looked into the shelters but no luck there... and as to the responsibility, my wife and I both have experience with dogs both small and large... but thanks for the advice and your responses.

There is no such thing as a tea cup Yorkie. Any true Yorkie person will tell you so, and a disreputable or dishonest breeder will tell you otherwise. They will sell you a puppy and promise it will be a "teacup" and you will end up with an 8 pound full grown dog. PLEASE stay away from the pet stores. They don't research the breeders and prefer to get puppy mill dogs. Reasonable price?!? I have never seen a Yorkie priced under $500. Try the Yorkie Rescue sites online.

A 3 pound Yorkie is no cuter than an 8 pound Yorkie. I've had Yorkies for years and lov my big boys as much as my small ones.

There are tons of breeders on line that you could contact that have quality Yorkies. They are a very popular breed. But they are almost always going to be expensive! Especially the tea cups because they are the most desired. But, sometimes you can get a good price by catching a breeder wanting to get rid of one because they are having a hard time selling, or it's a breeder dog itself that has to be retired for one reason or another. If by chance you get one for cheap, you should make sure it has documentation of a thorough vet check and is up to date on vaccinations and worming. There are some scamming breeders that will sell you puppies that have the worse case of luxated patellas (constant dislocating of the kneecaps), hernia's or heart problems for dirt cheap and don't tell you of these problems. Next thing you know, the money you end up using to pay for vet bills is the cash differential from buying a healthy expensive Yorkie from the cheap one! Another great way to find them at a reasonable price is looking at Yorkie rescues. There are always Yorkies of all sizes needing a forever home. Some rescues, however, are very cautious to who they adopt their pets to and it may require paperwork and interviews. Keep in mind a tea cup is a product of a runt of a litter breeding with another runt. Smaller isn't always better. Teacups are very fragile and susceptible to a lot of health problems such as problems growing teeth in their small mouths, sharp drops in their blood sugar and even organ failure at a young age. I hope this helps you out! Good luck! :)

i'm not from america, but my best guess would be to research the breed. buying one from a pet store or breeder will cost you anywhere from $800-$2000. You could look on the internet for Yorkie rescue groups or on a pet finder website where people sell dogs. I just want to add that a puppy costs a great deal of money - to feed it the right food, vey bills, vaccinations, grooming, bathing, pet beds, brushes, bowls, toys, toilet training mats etc... ask yourself whether you can afford the dog in the long term and all the costs that come with it? Is it possible that because u cant afford to spend a great deal on the dog itself, you may not be able to afford it in the long run? I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to help... =)

there is no such thing as a teacup that is an unscrpulous breeders term for a runt and that will probably have alot of health problems for the rest of it's life . get a normal size yorkie and they are just as cute as the smaller runt. Please do not buy from a pet store as they are just supporters of puppy mills . Look in your local newspaper and find a decent breeder .I used to live in seattle and there were plenty of breeders there . Decent ones too it may take you a while but you will find one . I dont know or remember the prices there but here in fla a decent one goes for around 750.00 .and up . so you just have to look around . good luck to you .

I would look to adopt one from a pound or animal shelter. Anytime you look to a breeder you are going to pay at least 800-1100 dollars for something like that. They are hard to find, but if you look at the pound or shelters often enough you might get lucky.
