anyone know any music free download sites apart from limewire as i got a virus off limewire

http://www.limewire.com/ is the most used free file sharing site. make sure you have anti virus running before swapping any files. the free edition of avg available from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ does a good job. once you have installed limewire do a search for limewire pro. then install this and delete the original. pro is faster.

i also got a virus and a trojan off limewire after reinstalling my windows i use ares i find it easy to use and very safe i check every download with norton and have not found a virus yet good luck

limewire usually has a window pop up when a corrupt file is being downloaded and in that window it asks whether to continue downloading or to stop
as with any p2p program it's good practice to scan each file that's downloaded before opening (or playing) them - and to keep your virus program updated on a regular basis
you might notice that when doing a search for files on limewire - that there are quite a few files that are similar in each search
01 Track 01 - xxxxx mb in file size
all the way through to 07 Track 07 - xxxxx mb in file size
also another familiar one is
Wicked Remix - xxxxx mb file size (this one I know is a virus as I made the mistake in downloading it - but ran the virus scan program and that's where it picked it up as a virus - I would recommend you do not download any file with that name)
WinMX is another good p2p download program
but like I said - make sure you scan each file you download BEFORE opening/playing them

All of the illegal download file-sharing utilities are going to attract viruses and spyware. "Script kiddies" just love to prey on anything they can get their hands on. With that said, of course the more popular ones like limewire are going to be more heavily infected.
You should consider abandoning the rogue lifestyle and jump on board of iTunes. It's only a buck per download, and you can pull the best songs you like off of each album. Best of all, it's LEGAL!!

Lime Wire only contains viruses in programs!
When you select a download folder Lime Wire downloads to that folder, you then scan the down load for a virus, and it will be removed,

I should say that there is always a catch when you getting something for free especially when they give you something new be care full use a good firewall and anti virus and spy ware for me torrents are the best
