I think the acceptance of Ying/Yang is what may be lacking in many Religions. It is positive and negative, or dark and light, in equal harmony. It creates a balance in your life and by accepting one, it helps to balance the other. Kind of like living in reality and acknowledging that both can co-exist. A good example is to observe nature. The eco-system relies on harmony which is achieved through positive and negative outcomes. Hope that isn't too wishy-washy!

The concept of Yinyang has its roots in Taoism. You must first understand the concept of chinese medicine before you can appreciate the concept of Yinyang.

In chinese medicine, the body has a qi that must be balanced at all times. An inbalance causes sickness, death etc.

Yinyang has nothing to do with religion, it is borrowed concept from the other areas of chinese knowledge. The taoists believe even that dogs, cats, monkeys, chickens, pigs etc all have deity forms. And this is not a joke.

Its Taoist. Yin is the dark side where yang is the light side. They believe that in very good there is some evil and in very evil there is some good. Good and evil must be in balance.

ev ery thing has a balance ,male female ,black white/good bad,
where it comes into religion is called redemption ,we can right the wrongs we have done in the after life ,its a balancing that assures us to know we have been forgiven,
we set things right ,if we stole candy from a child we get to restore that we stole ,hurt ,killed there is no end to the acts of restitution we can and will do to redeem the evils we have wrought.
yin and yan comes under the heading also of doing untio others and not judging others ,its woven through many religious beliefs but not by that name.
we are all known by our fruits ,fortuinatly we can redeem all our sins in heaven and hell ,the only draw back being we can take many life times to feel we have restored our karma to where we feel worthy of the grace and love we get and are able to give in return.

Jesus:
And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field and how they grow; they do not go to work, neither do they spin (cloth): And yet I say to you that even King Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. So if God so clothes the wild flowers, which to-day flourish, and tomorrow are thrown on the bonfire, shall he not much more clothe you, Oh you who are of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, How shall we (as monks) acquire clothing? (For after all these things do the common people seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Rather seek first the Kingdom of God, and righteousness; and all these things shall be given to you. (Matthew, 6).

This is Yin an Yang in action. By surrendering to God, God will help you, in the absence of your hate, love will grow.

Religion is confusion.... there are just too many ways of looking at what makes life greater than us......

ying and yang is a balance of the dark side in man and the pure whole side of man.......

it is Chinese.....

I don't think it is based on a religious philosophy.... More so a need to balance Tai-Chi...... A form of martial arts.....

It's the balance of ALL things. That everything has an element of its opposite in it.

Religious teaching has been based on it, but the concept is more of a basic worldview.
