I purchased it several years ago and forgot I had it. I found it in my basement and think it has affected my life for the past few years. How can I get rid of it?

first ask yourself, how is it possible for paper to hurt me. Did you get a paper cut or something. Just throw it in the trash, and talk to your therapist. You just might have a slight chemical imbalance.
