Hi, I am having a bit of a problem. I met this person over MySpace and we have become best buds. Now he wants to move where I live and I am all for it but everyone I know won't be since I met him over the internet. I'm trying to think of an excuse that will seem legit so people don't freak. I can't say hes an old friend or a friend of a friend... should I say I knew him back in the day from school? Im 18 and hes 22... Give me some advice.
Please only serious comments, none of this "How do u not know he's a psycho from the net?"

Are you saying he want to move into your house or the same city?
Into your house i would have to say no way.
I have know people that get along great once they meet each other...and then there was the 13 year old girl found dead on a river bank....so think before you say yes to his real friendship. I know 18 is grown and all but please think this one through.

Thats tough, because people are like that. The truth will get everything over with and there won't be any story that has to be made up and keep the story going. Or just make something up, saying you knew him from high school could pass or even from a college class. If you do tell a story, make it simple and right to the point. The more complex the harder it is to stay with it.

It's nobodys business but your own. You don't have to explain your relationship to anyone. He's your friend period. As for him being a psycho, if you have been talking to him for sometime you should know by now if he's a wacko. You would get the vibes (extreme jealosy, unprovoked anger, possesivness, etc.) Meet him in a public place the first time. Trust your intuition. Women know danger. It's this inner radar that tell us something is wrong. Follow it.

usually people only move to be with people form the internet if they are romantically involved. it will be really hard to explain that he is just a friend. It is best to be honest though. You can just say you met him online, and it is really common to meet people online these days.

Glad you cleared up the gay thing... Anyway. You need to be honest with people. C'mon. Man up. You make your own decisions and he makes his. What do you have to do with him moving near you? It's his choice. You guys get along. The problem will be when you no longer get along. And... is that really a problem? It happens all the time.
Don't worry about it.

so what? to hell with what others think. if u think that meeting him is the right thing to do then go ahead. dont u ever make a decision dat will make u regret for what u hav done one day. try telling people that he's ur distant relative or so..

You can just say that you met him in a club or some common place and befriended him immediately.
