Don't worry! My hubbi calls me like this too. I don't care. Because I know he's joking. Seriously, he knows my IQ is almost 140 and often tells me how smart I am.
Sometimes I just want to do things stupidly before him so he'll take care of everything. He feels good when making the decision. This makes him more like a real man I guess.

Tell him how you feel. Tell him you are hurt. If he continues to say such thing knowing how you feel, then you have to ask yourself if he really respects your feelings. If the answer is no, then you may have to ask him if you really belong together. He better have a good reason for making you feel that way. Everyone does stupid stuff from time to time. That doesn't mean that that person that is supposed to love you unconditionally has to call you on it.

Just ask him not to call you that, because it's very hurtful to you. If he thought something you did was stupid, say "that wasn't a very smart thing to do" or "that was pretty stupid", because it was the action that wasn't thought out, not that you personally are stupid. You can't do anything here, because he's the one at fault for the hurt feelings, yanno? Good luck

It's amazing that no one has yet said "why does it bother you so much? Are you really dumb but in denial?", like people say when ones askes, "do u like when someone calls u gay?? ". Amazing.
Ingore the fool who calls you dumb. It usually means they're insecure about their own intelligence and decided to take it out on you.

My husband not in any respect does this. He tells me each day he's grateful for me. There are solid adult males available. it truly is verbal abuse. you would possibly want to stumble on a college class to take and educate him incorrect. or you would possibly want to take it so that you'll get better preparation, get a good job, and then get out of there. you want to be certain out what's conserving you from leaving and then initiate making a plan to go away. definite, you could ignore about your husband. there is something you could attempt. Is there something solid about him? if so, you would possibly want to sit down him down at the same time as he's sober and calm and say, "once you're saying such issues as i'm stupid, it really is compared to you. you're a good guy in different concepts." Then, each and each and every time he says something propose, you're saying "it really is compared to you." it is going to take about 3 weeks for him to regulate. Now, you would possibly want to sense that his verbal abuse is strictly like him, yet you want to assert it basically this way. repeatedly, at the same time as he's propose you're saying, "it really is compared to you." it is nicely worth a attempt, yet on condition so you might stay with him. also, you would possibly want to attempt being humorous about it and at the same time as he says that you're stupid, you would possibly want to assert, "Takes one to entice close one" or "i guess it makes you look smart in case you could marry someone stupid." yet it really is on condition that he's not violent. i do not propose it although. It would not make issues better and also you're stooping to his element. He would nicely be doing this to get a reaction from you. do not supply it to him.

That's a form of verbal abuse. Most people do that because they are insecure in themselves, and it makes them feel better to put others down.

Tell him it offends you. You have every right not to put up with it. He should understand when you tell him that. If he doesn't then thats to bad. And if he doesn't want to, tell him to say "but you are so beautiful" after it.
