Why do people MISQUOTE scripture,,or rather MISINTERPRATE it ??

Read these scriptures,,but be sure to back up and read the verses before , and after,,,to show example,,((The same way North American people practice Christianity without stoning people, kidnapping and raping their enemies, keeping slaves, ripping open pregnant women, and all of the other heinous things that God commands his followers to do.

you are misinterpretating and this is what ruins the real truth of the bible,people like YOU !! for not properly reading and knowing and understanding what your talking about,,a global earthquake would do this,,and generally if people are plundered , it is because of WARS !! The bible was written for many interpitations, that is what happens when you begin with a language that has words with many diff. meanings that is why you have the king james bible and many more.

The Lord and the Lady (and the Fool, of course) looked at the

Misquoting is very different to Misinterpreting. I will not get in to the religious aspects of your Q. People misquote for various reasons usually to make a point or to discredit. Now to Misinterpreting and here's the problem To start with the Statement is not clear so it is open to many interpretations. So who decides who is right and who is wrong. To misquote Voltaire" I may not like your Interpretation but I will not deny you the right to Interpret" or as the ancient Greek philosopher said. You disagree but first listen.

They aren't misinterpreted. They say exactly what is claimed, and the book, chapter and verse information makes it easy for people to look them up themselves.

The Bible doesn't say that a 'global earthquake' drowned millions, created evil, hardened hearts, sickened populations, or slaughtered firstborns - it says that GOD did those heinous things. It also repeatedly SAYS that God COMMANDED his followers to kidnap, enslave, torture, rape, forcibly abort, and kill people.

Obviously, churches and preachers don't want Christians to know about all this stuff, since most people with morals would be totally disgusted, and that means less money in their collection plates. Everyone should read the ENTIRE Bible and see for themselves what is REALLY in there! Just a few of many examples:

Ezekiel 9:6 "Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women . . . "
(i.e. Thou shalt KILL people.)

Isaiah 13:16 "Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished."
(i.e. Thou shalt KILL children and RAPE women. Note that a 'global earthquake' can't ravish women.)

Deuteronomy 13:15 "Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword."
(i.e. Thou shalt KILL people.)

Leviticus 20:9 "For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him."
(i.e. Thou shalt KILL children.)

Exodus 32:27 "And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour."
(i.e. Thou shalt KILL people.)

Deut 21:10-12 "When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive, And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife; Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails; "
(i.e. Thou shalt go to WAR, then KIDNAP and RAPE the women.)

Joshua 7:15 "And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought folly in Israel. "
(i.e. Thou shalt TORTURE people.)

Hosea 13:16 "they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with children shall be ripped up."
(i.e. Thou shalt KILL babies, ABORT pregnancies, and KILL pregnant women.)

You should also read where God commands people to STONE others TO DEATH (Numbers 15:35, plus many more), his guidelines for selling your daughter as a SEX SLAVE (Exodus 21:7-11), and his orders to force RAPE victims to marry their rapists (Deuteronomy 22:28-29).
