Why did God place the tree of knowledge of good and evil? So Eve will give into temptation. He let her so his eternal purpose will be fulfilled.

You want the true reason? Really?

God knew Adam and Eve would sin. He allowed it because God had all along wanted a creation that is able to think yet subject itself to Him. The only way to do it is to let the product be put into the furnace by Satan (sin), treat it (word), beat it (trials), and then take it out (Salvation).

Do you believe what I say?

Yes, He knew that Adam and Eve and everyone after them would fall. He allowed it, because He gave man and woman a free will otherwise God would be a puppeteer and we would be like his puppets. He desires us to have a personal relationship with Him, we chose to go and sin. Because it was and always will be His desire for us to have relationship with Him, before He even created Adam and Eve He had it in His heart to forgive so He would send His Son to save us from our sin.

Yes, God knew and He already knew what He would do about it. God gave Adam and Eve free will and so He had to allow them to use it and knew that they would make the wrong choice. But that is what free will is all about. He also gave us the solution through Jesus Christ to have that choice also and to make the right choice. If He never allowed Eve to fall, He would have had robots to worship Him. What He wants is our love to worship Him and the free will to worship Him.

God made a sovereign choice to give eve free will. God told her what to choose and what not to choose in the garden but having free will she was free to disobey God and so she did. If God forced us to always do the right thing, we wouldn't be free moral agents and we wouldn't be able to love because love requires free will. We would be robots or computers.....programmed to act a certain way.

"Why?" is so often our question.

Why did God allow Eve to sin? Why did God allow Satan to tempt? why doesn't God do something about the suffering in the world? Why do good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people?

There are little cute pat answers people give: "man's free will", "god's sovereignty" etc.

But I really think that god wants us to say, "Lord, I bow before You. I do not understand but I know you are God and that you are merciful and kind, gracious and full of compassion. I do not understand why you allowed Eve to sin and why you allow people to suffer so. But I bow before you and proclaim Your goodness and grace."

god bless

Why does God let any of us do the evil that we do?
Because He gave us free will. God would rather that we have the choice, to chose him or to not chose him.

Would you rather the alternative, that we are all walking robots with no choice?

God is Almightly, He knows everything,
Eve chose what she want, God didn't lead her to do so,
He said "don't eat from this tree" and that what she need to do, obey Him, but she refused to obey God.

Yes he knew, and he did not "let her" she chose to fall into satan's trap of sin and temptation.

If he is omniscient, as some claim, then he knew about everything - that he would regret making people and drown them, slaughter babies, command his followers to rape and kill people, etc. He'd also know that people with morals will never worship his evil self.
