As an American Co-Mason, I will say that we do not allow admitted Atheists in our Order. Yes, I have heard that the French had taken all references to the Supreme Being out of their Rites. Personally, I am puzzled by that.
Regarding race: Co-Masonry admits men and women of all races to its Rites. I thought most Freemasons do, but I may be wrong about that. I have Black, Native American, and Asian Brothers (we call men and women "Brother.")
Since my experience is only Blue Lodge and Mark, I cannot speak to any of the higher. I just think an Atheist would have to grind their teeth quite a bit in those four degrees.
BTW, I am a Deist, not that matters much. Having had two direct experiences, I really do not need a religion to step between me and my Creator.

They could handle the Freemason degrees, at least from a philosophical position. But an atheist would have to lie about being an atheist before they could join, and they would have to lie about offering prayers to Deity as they ascend the ranks.
Currently, the Grand Orient of France (supposedly) allows atheists...
As for "whites only," that's baloney.

First off, an admitted Atheist can not become a Freemason. As for handling the degrees... sure, why wouldn't they be able to handle them? The religious (or non-religious) label one chooses to use for themselves, has nothing to do with how one would handle Freemasonry.

As atheists, they're not allowed to work the degrees at all, since (traditional) Masonry requires a belief in a Supreme Being.

They are probably all Atheist they just cant admit it. Atheist can lie about being Christians and they can offer prayer without batting an eye. Many religious leaders are Atheists. OO

Probably the "whites only" rule.
You people giving me thumbs down, do your research. Freemasonry is whites only. I'm not saying Atheism is right, just answering the question. And for that matter, there are no doubt athiests who are Freemasons...it's really about making business connections, after all.
Sorry if I offended the bigots in the bunch that want to go to a club with no black people, but it's true. Freemasonsry is segregated and no Christian with a brain should be in it! More thumbs down...please!

The tricky Mason grip handshakes would stop me. Luckily I bought a Masonic decal for the back of my car to avoid tickets. Hira a' biffe and all those other secret clubhouse words to you.
