to make chapatti-
1. mix flour with water well
2. knead the dough
3. roll into small balls (maybe the size of a golf ball)
4. using the rolling pin press it into neat round chapattis
5. do whatever u want to with 'em
u can store 'em in the fridge(air tight container) and then heat 'em up whenever u feel like eating it!

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 cup hot water or as needed
In a large bowl, stir together the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour and salt. Use a wooden spoon to stir in the olive oil and enough water to make a soft dough that is elastic but not sticky. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it is smooth. Divide into 10 parts, or less if you want bigger breads. Roll each piece into a ball. Let rest for a few minutes.
Heat a skillet over medium heat until hot, and grease lightly. On a lightly floured surface, use a floured rolling pin to roll out the balls of dough until very thin like a tortilla. When the pan starts smoking, put a chapati on it. Cook until the underside has brown spots, about 30 seconds, then flip and cook on the other side. Continue with remaining dough.
*Once cooked remove it from skillet apply some clarified butter on one side(optional) and store in a kitchen towel lined bread basket to keep them from drying.

you use chapati flour, and add water and a little oil, and a pinch of salt, mix until it's to a smooth dough. Then roll into small balls, keep these covered in clingflim so they don't dry out too much, and then roll each little ball out into a chapati shape, these can be done ahead of time, then you need to place either greaseproof or clingfilm between each chapati and dont' allow them to dry out, cover with cling film.
When it comes to cooking, have a very hot dry frying pan, and cook each side, they can then be kept in the over to stay warm or cover with tea towel on a plate.
If you can't find chapati flour, grannary works just as well. As for quantities, use common sense basically. These will not store for more than a day
another nice bread is to use white flour, mix in olive oil, chilli flakes and pinch of salt, roll into a nan shape, sprinkle more olive oil and add rock salt and rosemary, and bake in oven

make a firm dough with whole wheat flour and water...this you can cover and store for 4-5 days.
keep some wheat flour in a small plate...take out ur rolling pin...take a ball size piece of dough in ur hands and round it with ur palms...now press both sides of the ball into the dry flour flattening it slightly
now start rolling the ball till thin and round like a chapatti..you can use more dry flour if it sticks to the counter
now cook on a dry pan...when one side gets slightly brown...turn the chapatti and then cook other side and turn again..now press the corners with a dish cloth for it to fluff up ...ur chapatti is ready.
tip:cook on slow flame but when fluffing put on high!

buy some chapati flour mix with water , roll out into a circular shape and cook on a hot plate ... yummy make em all the time ....
