I know personally that people tend to put Jehovah's Witnesses down very often. Some people are really sweet to me while others are rude and obnoxious. They seem to have bad experiences with other witnesses that thay have come into contact with. But that does not mean that all are that way. So there really is no reason to be rude. I really appreciate those people who take a couple of minutes out of their day to listen to me. It makes my day. REALLY! Preaching our message is not an easy thing to do when you come into contact with rude people. We preach because we have a message that we view as very important. And we do this voluntaraly. We take time out of our day to go door to door and talk to people rain or shine simply because we have love for our neighbors. When i begin to talk to people at their homes, i take into consideration that im uninvited and that they werent expecting me so i am usually very brief and to the point. I try my hardest to be. I only go on if the person shows intrest or if they engage in conversation back with me. I am a young person. Im only 18 and i still get ill treated from people at their doors. I feel there is no reason to be mean. People on here have a big misunderstanding of Jehovah's Witnesses. From my observation they dont seem to know all the facts and they seem to make up things or criticize more than they try to understand or ask questions. They hear things from others and thats what they go on. Which causes allot of confusion. It really is not that hard to pay some knindness to pople who have only tried to be kind to you. Yes we are Jehovah's Witnesses and we are very proud of it, but we are also people and deserve the respect that humans deserve. Ive worked with little kids under the age of 10 from door to door and ive seen doors slamed in their faces, talked down to, or just mean. Fortunatly it does not affect them because they know that people are going to be rude in that way. It does hurt some first timers though. I know i strive to be kind to everyone i meet. And if i am being inconvienienced i let it be known respectfully and ask that person to come back at a better time. Whether at the door or on the computer it would be nice if respect was shown. Im only 18 and in the time that i've lived respect is hardly shown anymore.

Jehovah's Witnesses are just following Jesus' command to go and make disciples. Being woken up in the morning is not as bad as missing the warning call. Think of Noah's day, people were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away.
Witnesses are just trying to war their neighbors about the coming destruction of the wicked and those who ignore the warning.

If someone knocked on your door at 8:00 to tell you that there was a tornado coming would you be upset with them? Would you be upset if your town's alarm tornado alarm system went off and woke you up?

This warning could save your life. It is only because of false religion that there is a such thing as converts anyway. Everyone wants to serve God on their own terms and conditions in stead of obeying and paying attention to what the Bible really says, for instance the Bible says that the dead are conscious of nothing at all (Ecclesiastes 9:5) But it is a common teaching of false religions everywhere that some part of human life survives death.

People hate Jehovah's Witnesses because Satan hates them. (1 John 5:19, Revelation 12:17). Jesus said that his followers would be persecuted.(John 15:18,19; see also 1 Peter 4:3,4; Mark 13:13)

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.

Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.

However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

I don't hate Jehovah Witnesses, I just hate their religion.
Any religion that would allow a 6 month baby to die, and all the baby needed was a blood transfusion for a better chance to survive is EVIL!Any religion that tells their congregation to knock on people's doors and preach their filth and not take no for an answer is EVIL! Any religion that doesn't allow you to celebrate holidays, birthdays or even anniversaries is EVIL! My in-laws are Jehova Witnesses, so I have no problem with the brain-washed people in the religion only the religion itself.

I agree. I don't understand this hate either. Personally, I love Jehovah witnesses they are great people. In general, Atheists seem to hate a lot of religious people. I think what it comes down to for many is that they don't have any real strong beliefs and so they despise people that do and feel the need to attack and belittle them like the bully on the playground. A pretty crude analogy but an accurate one I think. Just my two cents.

Jehovah's Witnesses have an answer for every problem most people have about the Bible. JWs go door to door advertising this abundance of answers. Any group which sets itself up as knowing it all attracts ire from people who also claim to know it all and disagree. Most fundamental Christian groups fall into this category.

The greater population might hate JWs because their views on holidays are diametrically opposed to our society's views. What??? No gifts on Christmas??? THE HORROR!!!!!

Perhaps people who know no detail about Jehovah's Witnesses remember them knocking on their door many times over the years, and are annoyed in the same way we all are by telemarketers and other obnoxious people.

you question assumes that everyone DOES hate Jehovah's witnesses, but the reality is that though most people hate door to door religious pedlars, they dont hate the people or the religion.
I know heaps of people that follow that faith, and they are all good law abiding wonderfull people, they have to be, thats one of the rules in their faith.
and just by the way, I dont think they were actually around at the time jesus was.

No you are right. I've noticed it to. I am not a jw though. I don't know if I could go through all the things people put them through. They must really love God and believe what they are telling everyone.

I am not a Jehovah's witness. I have found many individual people in that religion to be sweet and gentle people. However, I am very disapproving of the religion. It is sexist, rife with abuse and hypocrisy, and oversimplistic in its thinking to the point of extreme ignorance. Further, the arrogance of going door-to-door and invading people's privacy puts me off. There is alot of rigidity and judgmentalism embedded in the beliefs.

ALot of people just think alot of the beliefs are stupid.. the no celebrating holidays, the going door to door on a sat morning, they arent trying to bug you they are just trying to share their information.. they dont bother me when they come, just be nice and tell them you arent interested.. I don't see how people can be so judgemental over them, the non celebration of holidays just means they dont celebrate man made holidays to them the only true holiday was memorial day..
and people are just ***** and like to have someone to pick on and bash.. I dont know, hate on my answer if you like, people have their own opinions and that is mine.. but it is the truth, Ive spoken with them often..
