You should not breed dogs unless you know what you are doing. It's not the breeding part that is tough it is caring for little puppies the size of your pinky. Would you know what to do if they weren't breathing when they came out? Do you know how to get fluid out, so they can breath better? What if the mother can't deliver naturally? Would you know if she was in distress? If you are wanting to breed to make money, get another job instead, breeding little dogs is not easy and could cost you a lot more than you will make.

i think you are a back yard breeder in the making. if you really want to breed chihuahua's then you need to start hanging out at local dog shows. make friends. join the local chihuahua breed club in your area. show your chihuahua and put titles and a championship on her. you will have no trouble finding a mate for her once you do that. if you don't want to spend all of that money and time to do this. have your dog spayed and get her a neutered friend. please don't join the backyard breeder association. it's a sad life, and one not very well liked by educated intelligent people.

oh and i think you need to watch. if you are wanting to bring life into this world and don't know what you're doing you should first see how it's taken away.

Go to your nearest animal shelter and watch when they euthanize an innocent dog, that was the product of a back-yard breeder. And is now dying because it has health problems and the owners were not chosen careful enough. Spay your dog and enjoy her as a companion.

I agree with the previous answerer, except I don't think you need to watch. Just ask them what percentage of the animals that come in are eventually euthanized and ask yourself how important it is to bring a few more dogs into the world.

Spay your dog. Please. Totally agree with the other poster. Go see how many dogs there are in shelters around this country because people did think the way you are thinking, on a whim, no idea what they are doing, or who they are placing their pups with.
