First, think about why you should shorten the time for schooling... you know, the pros and cons...
Second, consider that you cannot equate the quality of education with the length of time you spend in school. Long school hours can still produce below quality students, yet there were schools which demand for only a little of your time but produce good students. The quality of education is the main concern why there were ideas of extending/shortening the school hours. If you believe that your country's educational system is ok, if the teachers will still be able to impart the knowledge and wisdom you need in shorter time, and if you believe that schooling hinders the youth's education, go on. stand your ground about shortening the school days.

although when i was at school I wished they were I think they are fine. People need to learn to stay in school throughout all the day otherwise it will be a bit of a shock when starting work - all them hours then!!!!
