Although not the best thing to do, I reach for the chocolate and peanut butter, sometimes both together in a Jamba Juice Chocolate Moo-ed...shake, or Peanut Butter Moo--ed. I was real depressed for the short while they discontinued those because they weren't considered "healthy" enough, and were too high in calories.
Peanut butter is actually supposed to help, and a lot of folks think chocolate does too, but after reading the other person's answer maybe I'll reach for my omega 3 supplements which sit on the shelf all too often untouched...I could never eat enough salmon all the time to do the trick.

Someday or weeks when I'm depressed my attitude towards food changes. Certain times I won't eat much of anything, or drink much of anything for a week, other weeks I'll eat lots. I usually go for the bad carbs/comfort food when I'm depressed and feel like eating.
I usually drink water anyway, so what I drink doesn't change just the quantity.

Food plays a major role in changing our mindset. Avoid junk food like pizza, burger or heavy food like deep fried or non veg food. Instead eat salad, fruits and home cooked rice or cereals. Keep a gap of 3 to 4 hours between two eatings. dont drink water 1hour before and after the meal. Dont eat unless you are hungry (we eat more when we are in a disturbed state of mind). Drink lot of water, 3-4 litres a day. avoid any kind of stimulants like tea, coffee, hard drinks, dope, anti stress tablets. Drink 4glasses of warm water before brushing your teeth in the morning and dont consume anything for next 1hour. The warm water FLUSHES your digestive organs.

When I'm depressed, I don't care much about what I eat, and I drink whatever I can get my hands on.

I would comfort myself by eating good quality chocolate or ice-cream or go to a good Japanese restaurant to have a big dinner (alone).
If I really really am depressed, I couldn't eat at all.

I try not to overeat when I am depressed. I like food I am familiar with- going out to lunch is nice when I'm depressed.
