It's definitely overboard but not surprising. Jesus told us that we would be hated for following Him, and the evidence is all around true believers.

Oh yeah, makes you glad to be an American. But even more so, is it not way overboard to kill your child for becoming too Americanized? I do not recall the name of the book, but it's based on a true story. How sad is that?

It is more than a little overboard. It is downright disgusting. But it is much worse to convert from Muslim to ANYTHING as the result is death.

In my opinion it is always way "OVERBOARD" for any woman to beaten for any reason. Beating a woman for any reason shows what? That someone has power over her and is stronger than she is. Well there is always someone in our world that is bigger, stronger and has more power over us. This question makes me sick to my stomach. Beating women is not an answer to any question for any reason, it is control issue and is a sick one.

Depends who you ask. For me, I thinki its not right. But if I had to take a beating for Jesus, I would still pick Him and be honoured to take a licking for His name.
