I need to loose some of the post festive and non smoking gut, and historically went to weight watchers but got a bit bored and felt that the leader was quite patronising, so how does slimming world fare?
Answers please... where and why!
Cheers

I have used WW and SW and lost weight on both. The best one in my opinion is WW but you should try to attend as many meetings as you can for advice and moral support. Try a different meeting if you found the leader a bit patronising they are not all like her. I follow the WW diet rigidly from Monday to Thursday and eat and drink normally over the week-end and I am losing a steady 1-2 lbs per week. Check out the WW website for other classes near you.

personally i have been to both and either of them worked. i started off a slimming world and the "leader " was bigger than me and every time i went and got weighted i was still the same. and i just got bored at weight watchers. the best thing i have done to lose weight is calorie count and gently exercise 3/4 times a week.
Hope this helps
Good luck x

I actually went to Weight Watchers and lost 20 pounds...Although I did not stay for the meetings. I think you should stick with Weight Watchers, no diet is easy.

Motivate yourself - do you need someone telling you that you lost 4lbs to make you feel better?

Save yourself a packet and follow my simple plan - eat minimum 7 pieces of fruit and vegetable each day (raw is better). Avoid chocolate, alcohol, crisps, processed foods and fizzy pop. Get at least 1/2 hours sweaty exercise 4 or 5 times a week. Reduce the amount of white bread, rice and potatos you eat, and try to take on plenty of water (plain water).

You'll notice the difference in two weeks, and so will everyone else.

I wouldn't join either. Neither have great plans. Why not buy the Low GL Diet by Patrick Holford and aim for optimum health with the additional benefit of losing weight. You could enlist the support of a friend to do weekly weigh ins.

I felt that WW was simply a method of helping you to eat healthily in moderation whereas Slimming World seems a bit faddy in my opinion. Otherwise just try to eat more healthily, do more exercise and maybe enlist some friends too for mutual moral support!

Welll done for giving up smoking, good luck!

I did the slimming world diet a while ago and lost 3 stone. Its a great diet as you can eat unlimited amounts of the 'right ' foods on certain days, you never have to go hungry and it works really well

ive done both and i lost over 2 stone with weight watchers. have only ever lost about half a stone with the others. weights watchers is the easiest and most practical as you can eat anything.
