Its ok to look at the menu but not order anything...something my father told me when I was 12. Still, thats after a very long well established relationship. That had been going on for 14 years at that point.
Really depends on what is your belief system and forward of that. whatever is the truth, premise of your relationship. Different strokes for different folks.
I wouldnt marry a woman unless I had both 100% trust and honesty with her. Inwhich case even, commenting on another woman's figure shouldn't be a priority if you are 'out' for the evening and trying to set the mood with her.
I am sure you could get away with alot of things when said jokingly and inflection of voice means alot to women.

It depends on his wife's feelings. Some women don't mind and some do. It also depends on how a man conducts himself. If he's embarassing about it, acting as if his wife isn't there or he's blatantly gawking, then that wouldn't be too good, but a look would't be so bad, in my opinion. I don't think it's healthy to go out and feel like you 're afraid to turn your head in fear of angering your spouse/significant other because of their insecurity. There's a fine line is what I'm trying to say. ;)

Does a one-legged duck swim in circles? It's as all-American as baseball, hotdogs and apple pie, dude! Especially if the woman has the face that launched a thousand ships or a nice para dox.

what do you mean by figure of speech? Like their language? I would say yes. If you mean checking her out, no. That's just rude.
