Hi, can you tell me if that signature on this painting mean anything? Anybody famous? What can it be worth? The painting itself without the frame is about a foot tall by a foot and a half wide(I think). Anyway, any help is appreciated. I have 4 more oil paintings that I found from time to time. Any painting experts out there that can help me? My email is mpddc1@yahoo.com if you want to see any other paintings. Thanks again.
The link for the painting is below:

I did a quick Google of "Jahn."
Lots of them past and present, but none match the style of your painting.
I suggest taking it to your local art museum or antique store.
Beware of anyone who looks at and offers to buy it. For all you know you may have a masterpiece by an obscure artist and only get $10 for it.

What is a painting worth? If you own a painting that you like or love, that conveys some emotional meaning to you, that makes you think or feel good when you look at it them the art work is priceless to you as the owner and collector. It really shouldn't make any difference if the artist is known or not. Many great artists were not well known, nor did their work command great prices, during their lifetime.
But to answer your question specifically, this painting has the look and feel of one of those mass-produced paintings that come out of Europe or Mexico that are sold as fine art in mass lots at 'art sales' across the country. You know the type - 'Original Art, All Under $39.00, At The Local Redtop Inn, This Weekend Only.' Or you see them sold on street corners, in large cities, in front of service stations.
I may be wrong, but probably not.
This does not mean that a mass-produced painting wasn't done by some artist that later became famous or highly collectible. But I know of none that have received recognition this way.
The point is, if you really like this painting, and the others you have, then that should be all that matters. The true value of art is what the owner and collector put on it from their own personal viewpoint.
I have paintings, etchings and drawings by at least a dozen or so 'unknown' artists that are valuable to me because the works means something personally to me.

Yes, it's beautiful. As usual, it's pretty hard to find out the identity of many painters, as there are lots of artists around. Since you are putting it on Ebay, we'll see how much people are willing to pay for it. The thing with ebay is, it's not the best place to sell certain items unless you just want to get rid of them. Perhaps there are other web-based places to place it in that's geared towards art.

Painting in arts is expression of "An eye for an eye" in planet of apes.
Paint with the goodness in creativity with feelings on what we see so that others will see the expression on the goodness and creativity will admire your success as in worshiping God in planet of apes.
Then the price tag will show up with the signature with time in hitting the home-run with a priceless art in planet of apes.

Reproductions can be valuable because the originals are often so expensive most of us cannot afford them. But if someone does a good job on an acknowledged reproduction, more people can afford well-loved work. It must be signed in a way that makes it clear the reproduction is not the original.
